BTW I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of the '08 G coupe. Let's hope that it will be at least as fast as the 335i.

My good friend got a 645I for his birthday (go figure) anyways, he drove it back from canada where he is orginaly from....and we were racing non stop when he got back. When he put sport mode on when we hit 120 my front bumper was even with his rear bumper (he jumped me by that much off the line then the rest of the way we were even). When he had sport mode off i took him by 2 cars to 120.....

im sorry i traded in my my 02 3.5-245 hp, but about 70 pounds lighter than the newer ones with i think 250 hp, and around 120 pounds lighter than the ser. yes the altima is a quick car but no where near as fast as a g. i remember when i had my altima i tried to race an acura cl type s and got my butt whooped it was a girl dring it stock. i wouldn't even put it in terms of car lenghts ahead she was just out, i went to high school with her she said her car was stock. now some kid i work with has a heavly modded one and im in a stock g, well intake, but i have chrome 20's so i think my car is porlly slower than stock and i cannot launch excelent yet but i still zoom by from 2nd to 3rd gear, we normallly shut it down at around the end of my 4th gear and he is always at least 2 car lengths behind. i loved my altima but im sorry no ser even thinks about revivng their engine around me. i think they no their place in the nissan family.
I don't.
I met a guy in atlanta a few weeks ago at sharif's open house. He had an se-r with intake and exhaust, and he said he consistently runs 13.9@102. I didn't ask for timeslips, but I've been around enough that I believe him.
How many of you guys in here that think the g is so fast can run that? Stock? Or with intake and exhaust?
Scratch that. How many of you guys have actually run that?

most of the videos i see the g35 is getting beat, and it's always by cars that i have completely tore open every time, so im assuming they want something to brag about after beating this car.. 330i 330ci w/ zhp, cooper s i got plenty on my list.

This kid with a 2005 altima SE-R 6 speed ran 13.8 with nitrous other mods include
Nismo intake, headers, technosquare ecu, greddy evo cat back, grounding kit, and eiback pro kit......so if this guy you met is running 13.8 with just intake and exhaust he must just have one fast SE-R.....

No its not.
It can definately keep up with the G, but the G should be able to beat it almost everytime. Ofcourse this is assuming both drivers are experienced at MT.

From your earlier post it seems as if you stated you Dyno'd 273 WHP from just I/E mods and an ECU re-flash. I think what he means is that your dyno #'s seem unusually high considering most folks with an I/E setup have not experienced that much of a WHP increase. Especially considering your elevation (at 4000 ft. in Co.) and that you said it was 94 degrees - at a cooler temp and lower elevation you would have dyno'd even higher - which seems even more unusual.
I have never heard of anyone gaing 30+ WHP off of bolt-on's before. But if you did perhaps I should go with that same set-up you got!

G35 is a pretty good all around car for the price. It's certainly quick, but not "fast." IMO, "fast" starts with M3, EVO, STi, 05+ GTO, C6 non-Z06, etc. Basically, cars that are well into the 13s even with a not-so-good driver.
For 5 years I drove a Lexus SC300 with 225hp so the G35 is fast to me. I do realize it's more quick than it is fast but it's fast enough for me. I don't race. I do drive fast on the freeway and when I'm with my friends caravanning to a meet but it's fast enough to handle these activities. I love it when I u-turn in front of oncoming traffic, hit the gas and go like crazy. People thought they were going to have to slow down or shoot the finger at me, then I'm gone. I turned in front of an e-class one day. When I hit the gas on him, he looked at me like DOGGG...I didn't know those cars were that fast.
For you younsters looking for a hot rod, this isn't it. It's fast enough for me though.

I frequently fly on Boeings at 600mph, so everything seems very slow in comparison. Even bullet trains in Japan goes over 200mph easy. So yeah, pretty much everything else is slow, except maybe the Veyron, which is a big WTF to me.

Of course the G35 is fast, seriously people, is nearly 300hp not enough to get you to CostCo to pick up 24 rolls of toilet paper? Back in the days car used to be pulled by horses, and really rich people have their cars pulled by 6 horses - that's a whopping 6 horse powers for the rich and famous.
