From your earlier post it seems as if you stated you Dyno'd 273 WHP from just I/E mods and an ECU re-flash. I think what he means is that your dyno #'s seem unusually high considering most folks with an I/E setup have not experienced that much of a WHP increase. Especially considering your elevation (at 4000 ft. in Co.) and that you said it was 94 degrees - at a cooler temp and lower elevation you would have dyno'd even higher - which seems even more unusual.

I have never heard of anyone gaing 30+ WHP off of bolt-on's before. But if you did perhaps I should go with that same set-up you got!
It's not ECU re-flash, it's Utec. I tuned My own engine, i pushed the limit for the timing to get the best WHP from my mods. people in my350z got almost the same numbers as mine. it's not like overrated or something.
I should hit the 300whp with M-rev2 and perfect weather.

Quote: How many cars do you see on the road every day that beat the G on the 1/4 or on the track??
Not very many.

You can't be serious. Even excluding exotics which I don't see on the road every day, here's a partial list off the top of my head in alphabetical order: Audi S4, S6, S8; BMW M3, M5, M6, Z4M, 335, 750; Cadillac CTS-V, STS-V, XLR-V; any C5, C6 Vette; Dodge Magnum, Viper; Honda S2000; Jaguar XJR, XK series; Lexus GS 450, IS 350; any MB AMG iteration, C350, S600, SL 550; Pontiac GTO; any 993, 996 or 997 Porsche, and Boxster S. Of course there are many others that I've neglected, but these are the ones that come to mind without research.

I REALLY CANT EVEN BELIEVE THIS POST. WAT THE FK DID YOU THINK YOU WERE GETTING INTO WHEN YOU PICKED UP A G35 COUPE. ITS A V6 WITH 298 HP LOL. LOOK AT THE FRIGGIN CARS YOUR NAMING, V SERIES CADIS, AMG BENZES, AUDI S LINE. COMPARE THE G WITH CARS IN ITS CLASS AND ITS ACTUALLY FASTER OR HOLDS UP WITH ALOT OF THEM. IF YOUR GOING TO BE RIDICULOUS AND COMPARE IT WITH A 469 HP SUPERCHARGED V8 MERCEDES BENZ THAT COST AS MUCH AS UP TO 3 G35 COUPES YOU JUST SOUND RIDICULOUS.

Ive seen the videos on youtube too. The s2000 and altima beat the g in those videos. Of course that is not taking into account many variables which everyone has already mentioned.

The main question is why are there only videos of the g's losing???? Maybe I'm not looking hard enough or maybe it is as someone mentioned that people want to 'brag' about beating our cars.

In any case if you have a video of a g35c (or sedan) spanking a car then you should put it on youtube. That way we can all have something to brag about I know i will!

I met a guy in atlanta a few weeks ago at sharif's open house. He had an se-r with intake and exhaust, and he said he consistently runs 13.9@102. I didn't ask for timeslips, but I've been around enough that I believe him.

How many of you guys in here that think the g is so fast can run that? Stock? Or with intake and exhaust?

Scratch that. How many of you guys have actually run that?
Trey,

Don't waste your time with these guys. They'd never believe there are other VQ35 equiped cars running faster times than G35s. Little do they know there are header equipped Altimas hitting 13.6-13.7s@103mph+ or a bolt-on 5.5 gen Maxima 6MT running 12.8s@108mph on slicks.

Your post makes no sence.

We are talking stock for stock. Obviously anyone can make a car faster. In that case, i've seen G35's hit the 12 second mark 1/4 mile

our cars aint that fast for a so called "300hp" (or close to it) car. the problem? WEIGHT!!!!!
i want my G to be FAST like everyone else, but i also have to admit that im kinda disapointed. it sure aint slow but it sure aint fast either. its just a nice, somewhat quick GT. not a real sports car.
it's got decent pull but i expected more when i first bought the car. now that im so used to the car, i find it pretty slow. need FI!!

I stand by my answer to the question that was asked. The question wasn't how many cars in the G's class do I see, it was how many cars do I see regularly on the road. I'l use your technique with caps.

EVEN THE 5KLB '07 LEXUS LS LUXURY CAR IS FASTER THAN THE G35. OH THAT'S RIGHT THE NEW LS DOESN'T COUNT BECAUSE IT HAS A V8 AND COSTS MORE. MY POINT IS THAT WHEN LUXURY CARS THAT FOCUS ON THE AMENITIES AND NOT PERFORMANCE ARE FASTER THAN THE G, I DON'T CONSIDER THE G FAST.

Quote: What do you mean?
I mean that most G35s don't have 270+whp.
That's all.

You should be able to outrun 07 Gs, IS350s, Mustang GTs, etc
Most G35s, even those that are modded short of FI, cannot do that... so your experiences arent exactly the norm. (no offense intended though, i think its great that you got that much power)

well how bout this logic.....

cs 65 amg... 175k+
g35c 6mt.... 33k+

the cl 65 is not 4 times faster... but it is 4 times more expensive.

does that mean my car is better

im just bored and felt like typing something

i never really said the g35 was fast either, just the point the cars its up against it holds its own. bmw 3 series are in the same class and g beats them. they are pretty well balanced cars for the money thats all im sayin. look at evos and sti's, there sick fast, pretty cheep, but there junk in every other aspect except performance.

Yeah your post doesnt make that much sense.....i think what you are saying is that a alitma with just headers is going to run 1 second fast on the 1/4 mile...thats bull**** dude sorry if you think this but anyone in racing will tell you this. If headers took 1 second off a 1/4 mile time imagine what test pipes and a exhaust would do as well.....would that mean the car would then be running 11. 5 seconds? Headers at the most add 20 hp. 20 hp is not going to take .9 (almost 1 second) off a 1/4 mile time.....

second thing is nissan isnt going to make a 4 door altima faster than the 350z. The Z cars are what nissan is famous for. We are not that much slower than the Z....our 6 speed is just as fast if not faster than the auto Z.....that would be like porsche making the cayane (however you spell it) faster than the 911 turbo....right? So if the altima is slower than the Z and we are just as fast as the Z then how is the altima faster than us?

----^^ someone has to agree with me on the 2nd part??

the Z should be slightly quicker than the G (due to weight) and Altima (due to FWD).

the Altima and G should be a fairly even race. The Altima has less weight, but has a more restrictive i/e system. The G is RWD but tends to not launch so well although it is better tuned.
