Sell my baby?

I asked this question a long time ago and did not go through with the decision because I stalled on moving out of my house. However I am 25 and finally buying a townhouse and want a smaller car payment (currently $465/month). I want to be under $300 a month and if I trade in should be ahead almost $9000 dollars. Any suggestions?
My current ideas included the new civic si, or acura rsx type s, used suv or new wrangler. As you can see I am open to any ideas including refinancing my car. One factor to also consider is I live in Chicago and want something decent in the snow. Is the g driveable with winter tires?
(By the way I went and drove a used sti today, it was fast but definately hideous and cheap feeling. Salesmen tried everything to get me to buy until I finally said do you see that beautiful car outside, how can I step down to this Sometimes I forget how nice our car truly is!)

put her on corner.

get extra girlfriend.

give her a pager too.

put her on the corner.

when you see them every eight hours, stand upright and in a firm voice demand "b*tch, where's my money?!"

repeat as necessary until g35 with jwt twin turbo becomes affordable.

Let's say that your almost $9K is $9K, and that your monthly payment will be $295 a month. Even if you extend the payment to 5 years at 6%, you are talking about a car that costs no more than $20K when you include taxes and other fees. There's not too much down in this price neighborhood that anyone here would recommend. Your best bet would be to lease some car. BMW is always offering lease specials, and with a $6K capital cost reduction payment, you should be able to lease a BMW 325 for under $300 a month.

+1 on this one! Once, I decided to see how much I spend a month when I eat out and another month making my own sandwiches (for lunch) and making my own dinner. Damn! Making my own food came out to be about 1/2 the cost of eating out all the time! And I'm talking in the range of about $400 savings. With those $400 savings, it could be used to pay for just about any decent car.

Good luck with your new townhome! It's exciting getting your own place.

Thanks for the advice guys, my girlfriend was not to thrilled to becoming a prostitute but she will get over it. My only question still remains that if I keep the G, is it safe to drive in the winter with snow tires. I used to have a old supra back in highschool and what a pain in the a** that was! Also there is the possibility that my new place would lack a garage, would you still keep your g without a garage?

I live in chicago but I won't drive my G in the snow, I have a ****ty VW Jetta for that. But, snow tires on any car will drive fine. I had snow tires on my S2000 and I love driving in the snow, it was so fun. Get a second set of rims and slap some snow tires.

If you downgrade cars, you will never be happy. While a Civic Si or something similiar is nice, it will feel like a POS compared to what you are driving now.

Check out the Mazdaspeed 3 if you have to though.
