Got My G35 Bike Carrier Hitch Installed
Just had a Curt traler hitch installed on my 06 G35 coupe. Went pretty smoothly.. there is a need for a small cut out of the rear fascia, but hardly noticeable.. If you need to carry a bike this is the best alternative I've found, and I looked at everything (including a BDI system that has a carrier built into the rear license plate frame.)
Hitch costs $125 at etrailer.com and the install was $65 (about an hour). You can probably do it yourself but you'll need a few tools to make it happen. The instructions are ok, but neglect to mention the depth of the hole saw you'll need to drill an access hole behind the license plate.
Doesnt take away from the looks and allow me to take my bike wherever I go.
Just thought some of you might be interested in this option.

Can you please post some pics form the side of your car? I want to see how much it sticks out.
Is this the same hitch iamdjpaul had installed? https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...t=56352&page=6

This seems to be the best answer for the coupe. Glad someone finally made one.
Does anyone know if they make a kayak or canoe rack as well for this hitch?
Bike rack Im using is a Yakima.. I dont know if they have any type of kayak attacment as it would have to be horizontal I suspect.
I am using the same hitch as mentioned above with the link. If you do buy it from etrailer, and want to do it yourself, make sure you realize you need some specific tools (extra deep hole saw) and it was missing the larger threader that you need for mounting bolts.
Sorry no pics till weekend.. but I"ll try to get sharp clean ones to show anyone interested. the hole I area I had to have cut out of the fascia faces upward, so you wont see the notch you need, but the hitch does stick out (as you would want so the rack cant hit the bumper) but it's not very noticeable. Also I have a steep curb for my driveway and the hitch gave me no clearance problems. If you want to tow a bike, this is the way to go. (BTW, its rated I think for 1,200 lbs which means you could tow a jet ski.. though I woudnt)
