smog test?
So I went to my Infiniti Dealer to check out whether or not a Z-Tube would void the factory warranty. The guy I talked to said that it would not, except every 2 years I'd have to reinstall the stock tube 1 month before the smog test.
Why is this? (I understand installing it 1 month before, so the car can "learn" the new configuration with the stock tube, but why do I have to change it for the smog test at all?)

yeah, i plan on using the stock airbox, no other short ram intake (air temp not that different) or cai(hydrolock)
the guy also said that the oil from a drop-in K&N filter screws up the MAF sensor or something like that over time, which he said was $700 to fix. Is this true?

youll be fine. plenty of people have k&n drop ins. if there was a problem as big as that then no one would use it. youll be fine. anything happens, swap it out and take it back for warranty. but like i said, you should be fine.
