A girl I went to high school with was killed by roadway debris kicked up by a vehicle in front of her. She died almost instantly; you're lucky.

Yup.. your lucky it wasnt higher.. a few years ago there was some film producer traveling on the LIE expressway here on Long Island .. he was heading into the city from the Hamptons and a metal pole flew off a truck and went right through the windshield and got him.. car went off the road and he was dead. Your lucky man!

Now just imagine if you were on a motorcycle.. some people are just idiots when transporting stuff.

Man your very lucky. I once hit a freaking possum on the high way going 60-70 MPH that cracked my radiator fan housing, bent my radiator and support, plus bottom of my front bumper was all messed up. Check everything behind the bumper. Our G's are very fragile cars. T.T

Good to hear you are okay and fortunate to the metal contact was not a foot higher.

It's scary what some people do with unsecured loads. I hope you were able to catch the plate and report that person.

consider yourself lucky, cause if that thing was to hit you, you wouldn't be on here posting...

Did you get the plate of the truck?

Glad to hear you're ok - that's a really scary situation.

I guess it's far easier for them to catch speeders than those with unsecured loads (although in my opinion unsecured loads pose far more of a threat). In my opinion they should come down really hard on such individuals who fail to secure their loads. Tow the vehicle and nail them with an enormous fine and points off of the license. The amount of road debris I see is ridiculous and on some freeways it feels like you're navigating an obstacle course.

I was behind a mover truck that had all these furnitures on the back. I mean, they piled the stuff high. So, I immediately moved two lanes over to avoid it. Lo and Behold, one of the chester drawers came file off of it. I mean, this thing had 5 drawers. Anyways, I luckily knew not to follow those damn trucks. I don't know what happened to the cars behind that truck but I didn't stick around to find out either. Consider yourself lucky.

P.S. That sorta reminds me of that movie "Final Destination"
