Whats up guys..

New to the forum, but in no means new to cars..

Use to have a '95 S14 with a Blitz built S14 SR20DET motor
Sold it, now have a black on black G35C 6spd fully loaded and lovin it!

Anyways, my question is like everyone else a tranny question... for some reason it seems that everytime I downshift from 3rd to 2nd gear I hear the gear wind down... Just curious if anyone else has expierened this with their 6spd's...

Also: I heard from a pretty relieable source that Nissan is coming to an aggreement with Garrett Engine Boosting Systems to come out with a Twin-Turbo for the G coupe.

I know that I believe GReddy made a turbo for the new 350Z, and I'm sure if its made for the Z, it could be made for the G. But Twin-Turbo haha that'll be interesting..

Please post your reply's and comments if any of you have any information about the thread.

Well depending on your speed and RPM's you will get a wind down from 3rd to 2nd in most any car. Unless you you're hearing something other than your usual "wind down" and just haven't come up with another term to describe it...

Re: Whats up guys..

Ducatiguy,

Say that I'm at 4k in 3rd gear and i downshift to 2nd gear and as I'm releasing the clutch, I hear the wind-down in side the cabin, thats my only question.. The wind-down sounds completely normal but I guess since I'm just kind of set on the fact that the G35 is supose to be a luxury car thought they would make it a little bit more quiet.

Or maybe because I'm 21 buying a 40k car and being a picky fac/< about it hah no worries.

Unfortunately, one of the drawback to the G's "luxury end" is its noisey drivetrain. From the notchy / twitchy shifter, to the whining gears...

If you feel its an issue, take it in and have Infiniti check it out. This way it'll be noted, so if you have any problems down the road, they cant say - hey you should have said something...

Yeah, I'm in SoCal.. and when I was referring to S14 I ment 240sx but [censored], S15 headlight conversion, S14 SR20 motor same chassis as a S14 Silvia, why not call it a S14??

Anyways, about the street legal stuff.. I actually eneded up selling it because I got pulled over one night and I got my hood popped, and a cop wrote me up to go see a B.A.R (Bearu of Automotive Repair) referee. That is what they're doing to a lot of the street racers with turbo's now. You have two choices swap back in your old motor and make it pass smog, or sell it out of state.. I found an alternative solution to let me keep it, but I wanted to get rid of it anyways... too many problems and runin's with cops.

Yeah, the drivetrain is probably the one compliant I have about the car..but I guess thats the price we have to pay to have the first production of the car out... so we're the ginney pigs

rev match, 4K rpm at 3rd is really high to downshift to 2nd you are going to hear the winding down..I would blip the throttle then shift to 2nd..
