Ouch, I am burning!!!

Hi all,
I live in sunny Florida and when it gets hot it gets really hot, specially inside my black on black Sedan. Often times I find that rolling the windows down will alleviate the pain from the heat until the A/C cools down enough to roll them up again. BUT I keep burning my hand with the metal plate on the shift stick, the thing will stay hot for a while.

Now, my question to you guys is: Is there a shift **** that is of good quality and that will not retain heat as bad as that little metal plate? Is there another metal that will dissipate heat a little better or another material that will do the trick?

Please let me know, my right hand burns when I touch my stick.

Tint is definitely a good idea. You could even use that ugly thing people put in the windshield from the inside to protect from the sun, and try parking not facing the sun.
As to the shift **** I assure you, you will not find a better looking one. Good luck.

Tints made it better, but it is still very hot. Has anyone tried an all leather ****?

i almost $hat my pants when i rested my arm on the **** to change the station the first day it got hot as hell this summer. i got one of those reflective shade things (ugly or not, they'll keep your dash from fading or cracking down the road) and everything is much cooler. and vent your sunroof to let the heat out that does build up from the other windows.
