I have taken my car in at 7,060 and 10,508 miles for clutch problems. Both times I have taken the car in they said their was no problems. The car hasn't changed and the clutch continues to stick. I took my car into Glendale Infiniti the other day for a 15,000 mile service and again questioned my clutch. Well this time around they say my clutch is starting to wear and it will cost me 900 for parts and labor. Sam my sales advisor tells me that this work is not covered under warranty. Is this true? I have proof of these visits with the paperwork I have saved. I know most car companies replace the clutch under 12,000 miles but coincidentally since I'm over the 12,000 mile mark they all of a sudden find a problem. Has anyone gone through this issue and what actions did you take to resolve this. Thanks in advance.

no its not covered, if you can get a transmission replaced for failure they might replace the clutch then...the clutch and brakes are wear and tear items and are not covered

It's not covered but you have a documented history. Ask them to file a goodwill claim.

i don't think they would have covered it no matter what the mileage is. unless it's something you pointed out before delivery. it's a touchy clutch and you can find a bazillion posts on clutch engagement/wear/warranty. i was sweating bullets when i first took my car (first manual) and found the clutch picky. but now even though it took me a long time (10k miles), my shifts and takeoffs are smooth. you should've taken it easier on you clutch. i'm sure i put plenty of excess wear on mine learning and bound to replace it a lot sooner (knock on wood) but that's the price you pay, man.
I don't abuse the car. On freeway on-ramps I will take her for a nice ride but that's about it. In this LA traffic I really can't do much.

i know clutches are normally covered under warranty but ive read other members on this forum stating they have had it replaced under warranty.

Dealer told me if I want them to take apart the clutch and check the fly wheel also then I will have to pay for the labor first for the check up and if something needs to replace it then I will have to pay for the parts. WTF, pay for check up? I was like yeah right. They want $900 for labor. I think when dealer doesn't want to work on your car then they will use # to send you back home. That worked on me. (04 6MT coupe 36k )My problem is sometime when I park N after driving, I can hear some grinding noize on and off but every time when I press the clutch then the noize will be gone. Noize doesn't happen all the time, only once a while.
