swirl marks and holograms on a new black coupe
swirl marks and holograms on a new black coupe
hey guys i posted some time before about inifniti having to repaint my drivers side fender and rear bumper due to LOT damage.
well i got the car back and when i shine the repainted panels at night i notice swirl marks and holograms. i know a polisher can hide these but how do i remove them for good so that the panels match the rest of the car
what product can i use that is applied by hand, i do not have a proter cable.
here are some examples of what i see:

i have a black obsidian coupe!!!
they also put wax on this fresh paint so im assuming a lot of the swirls are coming from a smudged wax or improper application
i dont want to brignt eh car back for personal reasons.

I would tell the dealership that you want this fixed.
If they can't fix the problem take it to a recommended
detail professional in your area and give the bill to
the stealership! It's a new car and there is no
excuse in it looking like that! (get pissed)

The picture that you posted is indicative of damage caused by polishing. I've seen many cars on Dealers' lots with similar damage. It's probably caused by an inexperienced guy with an orbital polisher. I'm not certain that it can be removed, but it definately can be minimized with a good wax and polish.
I'd definately try the polishing route before I let those guys hack away at my car with an orbital polisher.

it can be removed with a porter cable and the right products.mine was just as bad and i used the menzerna powergloss, intensive polish and finally final polish II and i got 95 -98% of it out.
you def will not get anything like that out by hand, and i would not let the dealer touch it.
