Coupe is 6 days old and gets rear-ended

Sigh.... the post says it all. Was at a stop light the domino effect starts 2 cars back. It could have been worse I guess but my bumper is scratched and cracked.

I'm bummed.

That is a bummer, but at least you didn't make a booboo that you have to pay for. Just looking on the bright side. And at least it was only the bumper!

heh its an ugly a$$, squarish bumper anyway... just do without it...

OH! nail a 2x4 across the entire back as a home-made bumper
i've seen it done before...
or, you can pretend you have whiplash and sue!

Seriously though, did the head-restraints do their job???

They supposedly adjust automatically to prevent whiplash when someone rear-ends you.

Hey, look on the bright side.
At least you have someone responsible to pay for the damages.
Someone backed into the side of my rear bumper, collapsing the whole corner
and chipping the tailight and then just drove away.
I'm out $500 for my deductible and that drunk bastard just
has a little black paint on his white bumper.
grrrr,
John

Re: Coupe is 6 days old and gets rear-ended

I hear ya John. I got rear ended some years ago on a busy main street in my town. After getting out and talking to the guy, I suggested we get out of the way of traffic. ERROR> I parked, he fled. and would you believe "nobody saw nothing"
That little faux-pas cost me $1k (didn't want to make a claim).
A lesson well learned for me.

Re: Coupe is 6 days old and gets rear-ended

Same thing happened to me. Some bastard in a POS Camaro rear ended me about 10 years ago and sped off like a road runner after we agreed to get out of the traffic. I had a minor whiplash and headaches for a few weeks..not too mention, fuming angry. My only satisfaction was that I managed to yell some colorful expletives at him and his "girlfriend" as they took off. The lesson for the day for me.....NEVER move your car and keep an eye on the other bastard

Should have gotten his license plate or drivers license before trying to move the cars. In most states they want you to move out of traffic though.

Re: Coupe is 6 days old and gets rear-ended

After being rear-ended a few years ago and realizing how lucky I was that the guy did pull over, I always keep one of
those $5 disposable cameras in my glove box at all times.

I just need to get a video camera outside my house now,
and I'll be set!
