that shop sucks b@lls!!! I have never heard such BS

No one can just drive away with your car if u had it start with ur remote, it was said already but if someone popped ur hood, trunk or touched brake or clutch pedal, the car would shut off automatically

also any installer with very little knowledge can make your aftermarket & factory alarm work simutaneously, so you will not need 2 seperate remotes or to unlock your car manually

anyway, I have Prestige APS-997 2-way paging alarm/remote start
features include:

remote start that is programable on your keypad 5min-20min
2way paging, noise or vibrate or both
panic
remote trunk release
remote all windows up
remote all windows down
auto doorlocking when u pull off (if AT)
auto unlock when car is in park (if AT)
remote gas tank release (not for G35)
parking meter countdown timer
personal alarm u can set for anytime of day for appointments or whatever
a think a few other thinkg a probly will never use lol

a few friends of mine have Compustar & one has Viper, I hear those are very good also & prettty much same features

How exactly does thw viper gps thing work? I was never sure. Do you pay montly for it?
Yeah, you pay yearly for the service, I got the plan that has 100 ($99.00) connections per year plus a one time setup fee. Every month the system will do a self check and send you the status via email or by SMS to your phone. The system has web interface where you can do a locate and it will show your car in a map, kind of like mapquest or google earth. You can do quite a few things from there such as unlocking the car, kill the ignition, locate, and a few other things I cannot remember right now. All these functions are also available via your cell phone by calling a toll fre number. I like it and it was worth it for me since I get "some" piece of mind.

That is only for the mid level remote, the top of the line goes for about 80 unless I got ripped off.

But then may be I did not get ripped off, I got a free top of the line two way remote out of the deal.

A connection is any query you do to the system.

Thanks for all the postings I will be going to get different quotes this weekend for the alarm. I just hate knowing that they tore the dash out and tried to install the alarm took it back out and put my dash back in.
