audi tt

Here's some data from Car&Driver. Keep in mind that these tests are done in a rather consistent environment by mostly same drivers, so data is pretty reliable. With performance numbers this close it's all up to the driver. You don't need fancy mods to smoke someone if you know how to drag...
Last Audi TT 3.2 Quattro DSG tested by C&D ran 60mph in 5.9 secs. 1/4-mile 14.3 secs.
The last G35 that C&D tested ran 60mph in 6 secs flat. 1/4-mil in 14.6 secs. New 6mt's should be just a tad quicker, I hope
Saabs are no speed demons like an STI:
New 9-3 Aero is a pig... 60mph in 6.4 secs
Previous 9-3 Aero was a cow... 60mph in just under 8 secs
The new 9-3 Aero SportCombi isn't too bad... 60mph in 6.1 secs
The new 9-2 Aero is in the same boat... 60mph in 6.1 secs
Oh, and all Saabs are FUGLY!

Not necessarily. The chip might up the boost in the turbo... but in reality Audi's are equipped with an ECU program (call it the brains of the car) which controls every aspect of the car... from engine to wipers etc.
In the G35 the ecu, does not control the engine therefore a chip doesnt exist for our cars.
What the chip does is overwrite the codes from the factory and ups the power bands or holds them longer in a certain gears .... Plus the Audi also have Throttle body adaption (TBA) which again is controlled by the ECU.... over time the TBA adjusts to your driving style and knows when to accelerate or not...
The power gains in the turbo are much more prominent and easily visible than compared to a naturally aspirited engine. But in Audi's case a chip exists on all its engine types and you can choose from various different manufacturers.
the german cars are just more technologically sound then their japanese counter parts... however bad as that sounds, we just have to accept it.
Also, I agree the Audi has the best interiors in the industry.

Would you care to elaborate? Certainly the engine in the M3 redlines at 8K which is impressive for such a large engine, but I see nothing special with the engine in the 328 and 330.
