hey guys just looking for some feed on these two. i just took off my BORLA true duals on my coupe and i want to either sell it and buy the HKS or INjen or if someone would be interested to trade for one of those and some money from me. another thing is that im not facinated about the clamps on the BORLA so i would much rather have bolts and i was looking at a pic of the INJEN earlier and it looked like it used two clamps on the mid pipe does it?
one final thing also i have F.I. tp so how will either of these sounds wwith them im aware of the rasp just looking for opinion

i swear theres a bunch of threads like this....for me i love the injen cause of the look of the tips...but being FI i dont really know...i know a few things but not that much i think i forgot...but the HKS sound is as nice as the Injen...but i think hks has less drone in the car....the look from behind with either looks hella nice and mean...but if you have the money dish out for the HKS..if you dont have enough just go with Injen

^^^he's referring to FAST INTENTIONS test pipes, not Forced Induction....i've never heard either exhaust in person so i can't help there

IMO i like the injen better. My pops has the HKS on his car and it sounds nice but its not as deep as the injen. Ive heard both in person and thats just my two cents. If you dont want as much of a drone in the car go with the HKS but if your looking for something youll really be able to hear even with the windows up go with Injen. As far as i know the injen doesnt use clamps but dont quote me on that. I dont really know how it would sound with your test pipes so i cant help you there. Your gonna have people who like one more than the other so its really up to your personal preference

I've had the injen installed for a few weeks now & I love it.
It has a lower tone than stock, slight drone @ low rpms, but it doesn't annoy me at all. Speaks up under WOT. I have stock cats, so really not sure how your TP will change the overall sound.
There was a link on here that had a ton of sound clips on it...various combos of exhausts, TP, HFC's and what not. Clips are great and all, but if sound is a primary consideration, you must hear both systems in person.
audiblemayhem (Jeremy) has an "as new" injen exhaust for cheap if it looks like you're going that way.

i think the hks will sound meaner with the test pipes...check clips on one of those video sites to give you an idea. there's one on there with tp and hks...the injen is already loud so Originally Posted by 046mtG

putting test pipes would probably make it super loud...i have the hks and love it...but dont get it too many people are getting it...get the injen!!!

thanks for your input guys i really do want to hear them in person i have been trying to find someone around but its a little more difficult in NC. i have been thinking about the INJEN alot i am looking for something nice and loud this time around i dont think the drone will bother me i like to listen to my car more when i drive than music or anything so i guess we'll see. also im looking into it and i dont want to say for sure but i think the tp i bought from a guy might have had a crack and then welded againg because i heard a air leak with the borla and its still there with the factory exhaust so the BORLA is fine starting to get annoyed really
injen is much deeper and it's louder than HKS for sure. the only downside to it is the damn drone. if it weren't for the drone, i would get it. andrew's fast intention HFCs helped reduce the drone a little bit, but still too much for my tastes.
HKS on the other hand is a little higher pitched. it's still a very loud exhaust but not quite as loud as the injen ti tip.

here are some great sound clips of the injen ti tip from the outside. this is andrew's car without the HFCs installed. sounds amazing from the outside. if you can deal with drone, i highly suggest injen as it looks/sounds great and is cheaper than HKS.

I put test pipes on my stillen exhaust and gained quite a bit of torque actually.
injen will always have drone. yes, the HFCs helped a little...but it's still noticeable for sure
