Any G Owners RE-Finance thier Car?

Any of you guys/gals refinance your cars? IF so, can you please give me some pointers on what route to go with such as company. Go with a bank or credit union?

I am looking at refinancing for 36-48 mos. I had the car for about 7 mos now...financed for 60 mos. Need a lower interest rate.

All help would be appreciated.

What is your current rate?

Re-finance rates are usually higher than normal rates... and with the interest rate going up in past few years... its highly unlikely that you will get a rate which beats your current rate... unless who have a very lousy rate at the moment.

I would ballpark re-finance rates in the 6% to 8% range. Anything lower might be a good deal.

I would go with a credit union they seem to have the best rates. Try affinity feadreal credit union or credit unions in your area.

Hows the insurance for you being 19 and having the car under your name. I had to Co-Sign for my mom because i needed a parent to be on the title so my insurance doesnt go up.

I am currently 20, i think if i get it under my name wont my insurance go up?

I have capital one right now, the company i am financed with merged with Capital One.

Thats also new cars, so 3.95 is respectable.

I don't know how I got such good credit.

But yea I got 2 points on my record and my Insurance is 400 a month.

Luckily, Insurance is one thing I don't pay for.

And Insurance isn't under my name. 3 More months till point is off my record.

Nick.

are you sure about that? im pretture sure 3.97 was the lowest they could go on a term of 60 months.

i think that had something like 1.97 or something for a 6 month term.
