From someone who felt uncomfortable from the minute I entered the Infiniti dealer (Not that I am self conscience, but my Jeans, sneakers, and rock band t-shirt didn't get me the best service... they barely wanted me to test drive, until they ran my credit, and figured "wow, he can afford one of these"), there are many people who have already bought a G35. All different collar colors and all for different reasons. But stay happy, be helpful or shhh!! After building and racing (street and track) Mustangs for years, I am about sick of people being negative. Think like the motorcycle guys, and the Jeep (the modified Jeep crowd at least) guys, be happy, wave, support, inform, and be friendly.

Just my $0.02

But if need be I'll race it into you or beat it into you or drag you into a mosh pit until your happy.

Fair warning: if you go up to a wealthy American and tell him/her that he/she doesn't pay any taxes, be prepared to get a punch square in the jaw-- last time I checked, they accounted for well over 70% of the tax revenues in the US. Its true, they only treat you good if you're rich. Shopping for a G in my normal attire, I'm 16, got me pretty sh*tty service. In a suit, the service only improved about eh 300%. Testdrive was the first question instead of the omitted one. Itz a pretty f*cked up world, but at least all the G drivers can get along right.

I used to shop for cars in shorts and a tee-shirt. I figured I'd only get the real salespeople that way... but then I realized I was also getting the idiots [img]/w3timages/icons/frown.gif[/img] Unfortunately, it's a reality that those who walk into the dealership looking like crap will probably not buy or not qualify, so it's perfectly understandable that any intelligent salesperson would understand that their time is woefully wasted and the opportunity cost could be a sale or two. I hate that it's a reality, but it is. You shop at Goodwill, statistically speaking you probably don't buy Infiniti. Unless you're trying to be "shabby chic" or whatever...

Back on topic-- has anyone gone up against what they know was a 330 w/ Performance Package? I'd be interested to see some results there. A friend is currently vascilating between a 330 and Gcoupe.

As for the 330 with performance...

It is slower than the G35. I have raced 2 of them...and I drove it hard, hard, hard during my test drive (great sales man who understands what "drivers" are looking for).

On the 2004 models, the performance package is easily noticed by the white turn signal portion of the tail light. That is, of course, if he isn't in your rear view mirror the whole time.

On a pro-BMW note, don't be fooled by trying to compare the 225HP BMW says their 330i has, and our rated 280HP. These two companies do not use the same dyno.

The 330i is one fast *****. With only a few mods it will out perform a G35.

As for dressing to car shop... you are right, why was I thinking that the simple fact I knew twice as much about the G35 than any of their sales people would indicate I was serious.

Of course I live in the most morally depressed city in America... Orlando.

Yeah, I can pretty much get along with everyone...but when you put other people in danger, I guess I don't like it much and get grumpy. Yes yes, maybe the road was clear and it was a beautiful day/night, with nobody in sight, a clear road, nobody's in danger....except yourself and your precious car. Going 100+, lots of things can go wrong. I mean no offense to anyone really, but if you have half a brain I'm sure you can understand where I'm coming from.

Anyway, this one is to the G35 and the way the exhaust hums to me. *twists the cap* glug glug

Hey, it happens. Tires blown....and you're in a world of hurt. I just don't wish it upon anyway if it can be avoided with some conscious and rational thought.
