check your stock factory alarm

my stock alarm's remote stop working other day. Not sure what's the reason, anyways, I went and unlock the door with my key expecting the alarm to go off. To my surprise, it does NOT>>>

you guys should definitely check that. cause you might think your factory alarm works just fine.. let me know if your alarm went off.

the only thing that sets off the factory alarm is trying to open the doors or start the engine with the wrong key. It might be only trying to start the engine with the wrong key...

When you unlock you door with your key it disable the alarm...IF you lock the door with your key and someone is in the car and tries to open it then it will go off...It's like if some broke the window and unlock the door from the inside...

Why would you be surprised to unlock your door with your key and the alarm not go off? The key is supposed to unlock the door and disarm the alarm.

I don't think it does, I wish they came eqipped with stock alarms that when you kick the tire, the alarm goes off.

No shock sensor. I have heard of people adding them.

How many times have you really needed the shock sensor? I had it in one of my cars, and living in NYC that thing would go off all the time.

Actually the chip is only used for starting the car. When you unlock the car the lock actuator sends a signal to the bcm to cancel the security system.
