call your insurance company. let them know what happened and pass his information a long to them. they'll contact his insurance company and settle.

remember you have the bumper support behind the bumper cover that can be damaged without the bumper cover being damaged badly...

I will take the car for the first service some time soon. I will also ask dealer's bodyshop to estimate the repairs.

Why not to worry? If I were to buy a car with suspicious records I would probably search elsewhere...

see if he will pay for it instead of goin through insurance it will prob be a couple hundred its gonna cost him more in the long run if it goes to his insurance

if that bumper support is damaged its going to cost at least 1500 to start, i got my car back from being rearended her insurance ate 4k worth of repairs 2200 was for the bumper support and cover alone

if he goes through the insurance company to fix his car when the body shop goes to fix it and finds that the bumper support is damage they will supplement the extra damaged goods to the insurance company.

get the money from the insurance. those scratches doesn't look that bad from the pictures. Did the paint come off? how deep is it? A professional detailer might be able to buff it out. Check them out before you go to a body shop to fix.
