painting is cheaper powder coating is the right way, and much more durable and no chipping, its obvious you should powder coat.

what color are you powder coating/painting them?

powder coating is more durable and better looking
lasts longer
costs more, but well worth it

...same scenario here - - gave my G/F my 2003 OEM 18" Coupe rims, and almost considered having them painted, but then heard powder coating was best!!!

I plan to go with the powder coat!

i dont know about that but i know that powdercoating is much more durable and resistant to high heat temperatures. i don't know if you watch xtreme 4x4 on spike tv powerblock, but on their project hummer (SubUrban Gorilla) they powdercoated all of the intercooler and twin turbo pieces for the duramax diesel because the powdercoating can withstand heat better, therefore keeping the engine cooler and the egt's down. just thought i'd give you that piece of trivia. so yes powdercoat your wheels, i would imagine they get hot when going fast and you dont want your paint to starting dripping and running and then looking like $hit and then have to go take your rims to get powdercoated and spend even more money than you would have if you would have done it right from the beginning. but its your decision.

Looks like you already made up your mind. Powdercoating it is. Right choice
