Advice Needed: Cant shift smoothly into 5 after clutch install.
I had the JUN flywheel & nismo clutch installed today at 2visions.
Jeff was great and I highly recommend him to all of you in norcal.
Took me 5 mins to get used to the super low grabbing point of the clutch.
However I have some issues with shifting. The car would not go into 5th when i push it to the far right and up. I have to push it to the far right, hit a notch then push it abit left. it seems like something is blocking the right side.
I find this very disturbing as having to push the shifter towards 3rd to let it slip into 5 is a misshift waiting to happen. A couple of times i tried to revmatch from 6-5 i ended up hitting the blockage and grinding the clutch. This takes a huge toll in my confidence of shifting from 6-5. I always fear a misshift.
Jeff thinks its normal for the nismo clutch. He's very knowledgeable but somehow I don't think it is. I would appreciate if anyone could tell me more about this.
Also the clutch chatter extremely loud, louder than my exhaust at WOT
Does the clutch affect chatter or is the flywheel the only determining factor? All the reviews for the JUN flywheel says that its extremely quiet, one of them was paired with the ACT another was paired with clutchmasters fx300.
starting in 1st, clutch chatters but not too loud
2nd, chatters at 2-2.1k rpm(loud)
3rd, 2k rpm( Super loud)
4th, 2k rpm (loud)
5th, 2k rpm cruising just a tiiiiny bit of accel( extremely loud ! can be heard in a 1/4 mile radius maybe
)
Appreciate all the advice and help I can get.
and thanks to Jeff for the wonderful install.

As far as your problems with hitting 5th I suspect what it could be and it is easy to get rid of. I had the same case after the shop installed my short-shifter.
After you take of the gear **** and all the fabric covers off there is a metal gate that keeps the lever from going too much to the right unless pressed down for reverse (then it slips under the gate and can go further right to hit R).
If this gate is not placed properly it allows the lever to travel to much to the right and pass the slot for 5th so you have to go back a little to find it. It's a matter of a couple of milimeters between right and wrong.
Readjust the gate and it's fine. It is held down by sth like 4 big screws only.
Hope this is it and I could help.
As far as the chatter .... that's the reason I will never get performance clutch and flywheel

The chatter you may just have to deal with. I have the ACT light weight flywheel with the ACT clutch. It sounds like a dump truck in low gears at low RPM. I scare half of my neighbors when I'm pulling into my neighborhood. I'm almost considering reinstalling the OEM flywheel.
I've got the NISMO clutch and NISMO flywheel waiting for install, which I was going to do after the holidays (I'm still under 4,500 miles). I didn't think it would be that much worse.
Maybe I'll wait untilt the OEM one really goes out... ...or maybe I'll sell it and go with the RPS or something. Or maybe just try to pair the NISMO clutch with the OEM flywheel, if possible. Might be a good match.

You can't go wrong with the JWT.
You hear a bit of rattling at very low rpms, but never while crusing in gear.
Basically, you hear some rattle at stoplights if you don't have the clutch pushed in and when you take off slowly.
After hearing these issues, I'm glad I went with the JWT.
Let us know how your Nismo turns out. I'm sure if you are using the Nismo clutch and flywheel you should be OK.
Perhaps fitting the Nismo clutch to another flywheel was a bad idea.

I have both the tilton clutch and flywheel in my G. Welcome to having an aftermarket clutch and the lovely cemet mixer effect. If you can't tolerate the noise, go back to stock as this will happen with ANY aftermarket setup. JWT's are probably the most quiet of them all, but even still, sounds like a cement mixer. My advice, get a louder exhaust if it bothers you that much lol

I was so ready to get a light weight flywheel, but that Installation price is the only thing holding me back.

It's not the flywheel the makes the chatter sounds its the clutch. If you install a unsprung or 3 - 6 puck clutches expect some chatter to heavy chatter. Also, feathering the clutch to get smoother less audible engagement will work too. There is a reason that they are call performance clutches and not luxury clutches.
