Question VDC OFF, BRAKE, and SLIP light on

Guys, I need your help. Yesterday when I got into my car leaving work, all three lights (VDC, BRAKE, and SLIP) stayed on after I turned the car on with the parking brake off. I didn't notice it until I was driving, so I pulled over when I could and tried turning off the car. That didn't work, and I was late for a meeting so I said oh well and took off. Everything seems fine and I figured maybe it was trying to get me to take it to the stealership b/c I had just crossed the 48K mark. I also just got a notice about that from Orlando Infiniti. Before I turned it off in the mall parking lot, the BRAKE light had gone off, but the other two were still on. I turned it off hoping they would be off when I got back, and they were. They stayed off after more driving last night, and even this morning on the way to work. I took off pretty hard but didn't lose traction or anything at one of the last lights on the way, and I looked down , and the lights were all back on.

I had the dealership "take a look" about 5K miles ago, when the battery died, and all they said was I need a new drive belt and it never received the 30K? treatment.

What is going on with my G? It is an '04 MT I bought in May with 34K miles, and everything has been great w/ it so far. I haven't had to replace anything yet, and I just crossed the 48K mark. Tires/brakes/rotors still in good condition

What do you guys know about this?

Sorry man I didn't know about the search function. I am scared to take it to the stealership, b/c the pad are probably getting close, and I know they are going to say they all need replacing. How many of you found it to be just the fluid, and how many found it to be the pads?

Thanks-

In a new car that doesnt leak brake fluid, when it is under the low level, it means that you need to change your pads.

Pads are relatively inexpensive. What would suck is if you need rotors. I think you can get pads for all 4 calipers for $200 or so. It's the labor to install them that might cost a few hundred.

Good luck.

P.S. nice work Calvin. LOL

I went in the stealership for the same problem. Turned out to be low brake fluid due to low pads. Needed 4 new pads and front rotors replaced (non-Brembo). Wanted to charge me $900. I laughed at my service advisor and spoke to the service manager. He cut the price in half and I had it repaired. Getting a big brake upgrade soon... I hate it that they cut the rotors each time you have the pads replaced...
