No car loaner?

Yesterday I brought my dad's maxima to a nissan dealer and to fix some oil licking problem. They wouldn't give me a car loaner because my dad didn't buy the car there. Is this also true with infiniti? If it is I am screw because I bought the car 3 weeks ago and it's 2 hours away from home. Anyone has the same experience with infiniti?

Re: No car loaner?

You should have called Nissan Customer Care right from the service manager's desk.
That service guy must be an a$$hole.
If you don't get a loaner car from any Infiniti place you take your car, regardless of where you bought it, it will be your own fault.

I didn't think that nissan gave out loaners. Infiniti does no matter where you bought your car. At least they gave me one. Now I just have to get an FX loaner and I'll be all set.

From my experience with Nissan, the most you will get from Nissan is a ride home in their courtesy shuttle. But being 2 hours from home, you would be exempt, as the shuttle usually doesn't go outside of a 10 mile radius. The 2 times my coupe has been in service with Infiniti ( 2 different dealers) they provided me with a I30, and a G35 sedan with no questions asked.

Most dealers will only give a loaner if you bought the car from them.

Re: No car loaner?

From my experience, Nissan, like Honda, has never given a loaner car. Only the car companies that you would consider to be "luxury" offer loaner cars. Infiniti and Lexus both offer loaner cars from what I've experienced.

Re: No car loaner?

I agree, rarely a loaner from most of the normal car dealers. We bought a Toyota FourRunner and the dealer we bought it from didn't want to give us one.

I haven't had my G serviced yet but I was told to give them a curtosy call the day before I brought it in whenever necessary so they could have a loaner ready.

Now, BMW is a different story, at least here in Orlando. Free maintenance for 4 years and THEY pick the car up from you and leave you with another BMW. I was even told that they try to get you to consider something nicer the next time so thats what they loan you. If you own a 325, you might get a 330. Or if you own a 330, you might get a 5 series. And so on... Now thats customer service.

Re: No car loaner?

What sucks is that I paid for the car myself (G35Coupe) and I can't even get a loaner from Infiniti themselves (company rules are no one under 21..i'm 20). So they send me off to enterprise rent a car everytime and i drive home in a focus or pontiac. Such a waste of time whenever I go to drop off my car...

Re: No car loaner?

Maybe a national lawsuit against car insurance companies and infiniti claiming age discrimination. I would be behind you.

Re: No car loaner?

Nissan does not officially give loaners. The Infiniti dealers tried to persuade me with this as one of the things .. Not tht I wasn't bought already from seeing the G haha.. But yea. Also Nissan's warranty is like 3yrz/36k miles.. While Infiniti's is 4yrz/60k miles.. Just thot anyone might like to kno.

Re: No car loaner?

Today I went in for service. I got out of my car, greeted the service manager, and pointed out what I wanted fixed. He just says, "Let me pull the loaner around for you." Signed 2 papers, got in the loaner and left. Took all of 5 minutes. I'm 18 BTW.

I was a little nervous leaving my coupe, thinking it was definately going to get a long joy ride by some tech, but sprisingly when I got it back, it only had .1 mile more than when I left. Thumbs up Broward Infiniti!

Re: No car loaner?

I was able to get a loaner from a different dealer without a problem. They were pretty friendly and offered without me asking. I am in southern California.
