Optima D-35 (Yellow top) is a great replacement. It holds great voltage up to , and over 14 volts.
Its weight is lighter than OEM . I noticed that my 6 month old OEM would not hold over 12.2 volts after sitting more than 2 hours. Understand that alternators run at 14.2 volts output or higher to charge.
Why have the alternator always under a load to charge a battery that will not hold 12.2 volts.
Spend the money, and be real happy. I believe there is a R-51 Optima that may be offered now.
R= Reverse terminals,,,,,,,,, I swear that my car responds better to the extra voltage.

There is a write up on this, on this forum.
PS Throw on some Grounding Gear, Ground wires and be set.

Thats funny I bought my car used at a somewhat major delarship and I test drove it and everything. I took the car home and all the lights went out and the battery died. I couldnt turn the car off or else I had too jump. So yeah that sucked.

Our batteries should last around 48-72 months. Not sure what Nissan gave us, but what's nice about ours is you can easily check the cell levels and add distilled H20 if necessary, unlike most sealed batteries that are a pita to check and most ppl think they can't check/service those kind.

Look on the front side of battery and you'll see an upper level line and a lower level line for your cells. Add if below lower level line.
My 06 batterry is like this, don't know about earlier years.

Love my red top, but I think i got the wrong one, I had to mount the battery face down to get the leads to reach the posts (the posts were opposite from my original) Car starts effortlessly, seems more instantly responsive, and you save some weight (down from 3400lbs to 3399 : ) )

OK, my OEM battery is going on 4 yrs 5months or so...It has been a little slow in starting lately. When I turn the key, it hesitates for about a second then turns over and starts. Today, it had a lot of trouble just trying to turn over. I'm guessing it is the battery, but I guess I would need one ASAP. I haven't checked the water level in the battery, because I thought it was a sealed batter. I will check today.

Gee Pasta - I know this is the coupe section, but is it the same battery for a sedan? I have a sedan and have seen all the posts about the optima batteries. I'm just looking for a replacement, no mods and no improved audio system. Is the D-35 yellow top or R-51 a direct fit? Do I need that spacer or riser that some people talk about? And are the terminals in the right orientation? I know these questions have been answered before but any clarification would be much appreciated...Any place local to get one of these optima batteries??? Last time I checked Costco, they had some, but I'm not sure what size they had...Thanks!
