Re: Parallel Parking Your G35C

you can use the nice side view mirror controller to move the mirror downward when you park. Kind of sucks to have to do this, but don't really know any other way in tite spots.

Other than tilting the side mirror, I have no concrete suggestions...Just becomes habit and instinct, ya know? When I was in Chicago I did well, and it was mostly just guesswork turned instinct...

Re: Parallel Parking Your G35C

oh to get closer to the curb. I just lean way over the passenger seat so I can see where the bottom of the car is and the rear rim. Then you just fallow what you see in the mirror. this way you can get mm's from the curb.

Re: Parallel Parking Your G35C

tilt your side mirror or look at the car in front of you if the front car is considerably close to the curb then just align your car with the front car, you can align the steering wheel of the front car from your car too..

You'll learn to judge it the more and more you park it. That's all I can say. I found it a little strange parking it when I first got it, but I guess that's to be expected when you're driving a new car and aren't used to the dimensions of it.

I suck at parellel parking, and I barely need to do it around Orange County.. So I don't. =)

Sweet tips tho, Ill have to try the mirror thing sometime.

Re: Parallel Parking Your G35C

Here's a tip. Don't use other cars (and how close they are to the curb) in order to gauge where you are. I was parallel parking in downtown Baltimore last Wednesday and I saw a Toyota Corolla (new one) in front of me. I started to parallel park and hit the curb (tire, not rim). Needless to say I wasn't being that bright at the time.

Gee, could my car be wider than a Toyota Corolla?

Yay, I'm a moron.

Re: Parallel Parking Your G35C

Surprisingly, parallel parking the G was a lot easier than my taurus wagon. What I have done with success is to go in too sharp. This way you will hit the curb with only rubber. Once I know where the curb is, I only have to make two adjustments to park it perfectly.

Re: Parallel Parking Your G35C

I use the side mirrors to parallel park my G. I use my tires to parallel park my pickup (run 'em right into the curb and I know where I am! heheheheh)
