Has anyone sucessfully backed up an '06 NAV disc?
I don't think so..

It's my understanding that you need 2 discs to make a newer version DVD work in your car. The first is a CD that configures your system to 'look' for the new version DVD-ROM. Then of course you need the updated DVD.
When you buy them you get both discs.

After sending my backup to another member in the forum to test in HIS '06 we found the following:
He can use the disc just like an OEM one while I can't.
This shows that the procedure we used to make the backup is fine, it's my DVD ROM unit in the car that is being flaky.
I plan on trying a different media type when I get my DL burner to see if that will allow it to work in my car.
Thanks to all who helped!

I had a CTS for a while and had the CD based NAV ( which used 10 discs!! ) changed to a single disc DVD based one. Cadillac told me they sell that one disc for $650!
So we don't have it too bad to upgrade for a couple of hundred bucks!
The one in the G is a much more intuitive system to use and is far easier than that CTS was even with the DVD unit.
