No (in a nutshell)
The warranty is only void if something happens adversely to your car as a result of the mod itself. For example, if you get a cold air intake and get hydrolock (basically running through a puddle of water and sucking water into the engine), then if there is any repair necessary as a result- the repair would not be covered under warranty.

^+1...honestly i dont really know how a CAi would do any damage to ur engine aside from submerging ur intake in water which u should be able to avoid anyways.

keep in mind dealers will try to blame anything and everything on any and every aftermarket part you have theyll give you a hard time just to get out of something

it wont void the warranty but it will give them a good argument not to repair anything on the engine or even the tranny. they are all bad, but warranty issues cost them money to fix so you give them a way out of it

Just avoid some home-brew. Name brand intakes that are designed for your car are fine. Rare an intake is part of a major problem except the MAF which is factory anyway. I would also avoid super cold intakes that like to scoop up water.. lol

this is very true. The honest answer is anything that is not installed at the dealer potentially "voids" warrantee. Yes we all know about the Moss Magnusson act and we all have common sense, but this issue is very tricky and we have no legal precedent to say yay or nay whether moding our car will void the warrantee. It's always a gamble.

+1...any modification will void your warranty in their eyes

That's why you need to learn as much about your car, or car problems in general. Most of these are very reliable, and it's unlikely you are going to have a problem attributed to a mod, unless the mod is very extensive (cams, heads, etc.).
I would only install mods that can be backed out fairly easy, so if they can not diagnose it easily, at least they can't blame you for the problem.
I would not overreact either. If you have a squeak in the rear suspension, I would not bother removing your plenum spacer before you go to the dealer. A poor idle or miss in the engine I would. That's why if you do mods do not throw away anything that is stock, including nuts and bolts.
And use common sense.

Anything you do will "void" the warranty to the dealer. Even farting!

it all depends on the dealer...manhassete infiniti will tell you to take your intake off before bringing it in for a major problem not an oil chnage
