I had originally ordered my G and it was going to take 3 months to come in. Then I was checking out the dealer's inventory when I noticed they had the EXACT same car I wanted on the lot today. I called my sales guy quickly and he checked it out. Same price, same options!! So, I am now going in tomorrow to buy this car. I faxed him the credit app tonight. Do I have to have this car insured already before they will finance the car? Or, do they just have to see that I do have an insurance policy? I have insurance on my wife's car through Allstate. I think I will call my agent first thing in the morning and have him write me a policy. Any ideas?

I would definitely have your policy written up before going to the dealership. You can get the VIN from the dealer if you haven't already. You don't HAVE to have your insurance squared-away before you get to the table, but it sure will save you a lot of time and a potential headache in the event you can't contact your ins. company. One thing's for sure, you won't make it off the lot without proof that the car your buying is covered if you plan on financing. Hope that answers your questions. Enjoy your new G!!!!!!!!

Thanks. That is what I thought, but I wasn't sure. I'll call him in the morning and have him write it up and fax me a copy to bring to the dealer.

Damn I can't wait. Only problem is I am going to be scared to park it anywhere. Tomorrow night I'm going to the Rockets vs. Golden State and I'll have to leave her all by herself in that crowded lot. Guess I'll drive around til I find and end spot!!!

like everybody said, it's better if you call them ahead of time, but they will do it for you if you want. I called them up, and they told me that i would have to pay a few hundred more than i am paying on my G35 Sedan... which is 1700 a year. But i just got my bill and somehow, they are charging me 1204 a year for my coupe.. hope they don't notice that typo
