info on 2008 coupe

i got a tiny amount of info on the 2008 coupe. my friend works at nissan HQ in tennessee in the Features and Research dept. for the cars. He says i can tell u guys that 2008 coupe will have a 3.7 liter engine with 300+ hsp. he wouldn't say how much hsp exactly. it will also have a main screen in the dash that will display radio info and other info like most cars these days. that's all i got from him cuz i had to run to a mtg.

i was telling him of our most common problems and he shook his head in disgust saying he knows about them. he said the stereo and cd changer were a disaster. japanese engineers don't understand the needs of american drivers like holders for big gulp cups cuz they don't have such things in japan. so they actually had to take one to japan and show them..hahaha.
he said if we had feature ideas, i could email it to him and he'll review them for future models, maybe even the 2008. if you're gonna make suggestions, give me real ones, not dorky ones.

Suggestions so far:

1) Oil Stick design. Hands down the most complicated piece of **** oil stick design ever. Can't get a proper reading at times with it.
2) Instead of a bigger cup holder, I'd like a specifically designed tray for loose change. Not the ash try, just loose change. My old Honda Accord had that.
3) I hate the seat belts, to rigid and sometimes very uncomfortable. Whenever I enter a parking lot, the first thing I do is remove my seatbelt just so I have the freedom to turn or back into a spot without it locking.
4) Letter and business card holder? WTF?
5) If he can change the speed of the seats when you push the button and they move forward. It really takes a long time
6) driver friendly clutch.
7) brighter HID's in headlights comparable to bmw, mercedes, acrua, etc.
more choices of exterior colors like the limited versions of skylines in japan.
9) stereo system that includes an uploadable hard drive to store music, dvd player, mp3, ipod connection.
10) bluetooth that can connect with more cellular phones.
11) seat cooling system.
12) heated steering wheel.
13) exterior paint that doesn't chip so easily.
14) a nicer remote/key worthy of a $40k car.
15) remote controls window/sunroof rollup and down.
16) auto door lock when car is turned on.
17) rear view camera.
18) dual HID headlights and fog lights.
19) better bluetooth mic to pick up driver's voice.
20) accessing phone book on your phone w/o having to save it to the car.
21) interior parts/leather feels inferrior to bmw/mercedes.
22) seats need to be roomier for fat people. (those dayam JDM engineers!)

With those changes, the G Coupe would be the perfect car!

But then again, it's the quirky little things that give a car its personality...

Holy crap!!!

The paint chipping thing is HUDGE!!!!
And so is that crappy drive by wire clutch. I HATE it. It learns your driving style and after a good hard day of getting on it, the next day i can't drive slow because it is expecting me to floor it, i don't , and it lunges and jerks from a start. Stupid Idea!!!!!

i would really like to see the over-all quality of materials used improve... the interior leather is very cheap... the seats will crease like no other and the edge of my seats are starting to tatter, something u never see with bmw or MB after 2 years. Also the seats themselves are very narrow... its prolly because japanese people are rather small... but better interior materials is definately something i'd like to see... as well as an upgraded brake system again.. i'd really like to see them bring back the Brembos on the 6mt models.

I've seen plenty of BMW interiors on 745's and the like with HIDEOUS seats, especially black. Creased, cracking etc.... Leather will crease period, you can't expect your seats to look like new when you're constantly moving around on your seats etc.... its like saying they need to make shirts that will NEVER wrinkle after 2 years of wearing / sitting on it

Bimmer and MB seats wear just like ours. There's no real difference. If you can't fit in the G's seats you are too fat, point blank. These seats are supposed to be luxury/sport seats so they are designed to cup you, and they aren't meant to be like the big seats that the Cadilac people preffer. The 07 sedan's interior was definitely stepped up from the previous generation, and I would guess the new couple would be of the same caliber, so I don't think you have to worry about this.

How about stuff people are talking about, or already adding aftermarket from the tech area like:

-Backup camera
-Auto tilt side mirrors for backup
-Window up control from key fob
-Sunroof control [tilt open/full open/close] from key fob
-auto door lock when put in drive/shift into gear for the manual
- Improved bluetooth mic [people can't hear well, mic isn't good]
...and last but not least
- +1 on everything already mentioned so far

+1 on you're too fat if you cant fit in the seats... i find them nicely sculpted for holding you in position. i wouldn't want *** cars to be manufactured to accommodate our fat american lifestyle...

+1 on the seat belt.

The driver side arm rest needs some cushion that doesn't give out at 600 miles.

im not saying u cant fit, but if ur my size (6'2 220) u pretty much take up all the seat... my dad has had his MB a whole year longer then mine and looks almost like new, my brother on his MB is 260 and his seats are flawless. My moms had 2 BMW's and even when she sold them the interior was still flawless...

maybe its just me and my wheat interior... its a lot easier to see imperfections on wheat then on stone, or black interiors... but i still stand by my opinion that our quality leather is cheap... and it is by no way the same quality as MB or BMW.. supposedly its "not uncommon" to see that kind of premature ware on the seats.. but i still think its bull$hit... with how much we paid for our cars i think we should get a certain level of all around quality, call it refinement if u will which i think Nissan really lacks in the luxury catagory... also my seating wheel has these spots on it that wont come off around where i grip my hand...

again my point is these are things i have NEVER scene in any of the euro cars my family has owned and ur talking about 4 different mercedes and 2 different BMW's.. im gonna take my car to the dealer and see about having them fix it... i dont care what they say about ware and tare items... theres is no way thats normal wear for after 2 years, and i know im not the only one experiencing these problems.. It may be that i drive a lot, and that i am a bigger guy but i still find it unacceptable.
