So a dumpster truck dropped a fist sized rock on the freeway in front of me. Luckily it didn't bounce and hit the car, instead it went under it. A few miles later my SES came on.
The plastic plugs are shattered for the driver side OS sensor, both the male and female ends. Anyone know how much of a PITA it is to change the end that runs into the engine bay? or how much the harnesses cost?

Did you mean O2?
If so the sensor is ~$100-150 each and the have plugs on both ends. You can't cut and splice them.

If you are under warranty they should fix it. But you are looking at 100.00 for the part and maybe 100-200 on labor if you go to the stealership.

D@MN IT! I went to the stealership and paid $167 with tax for an 02 sensor!

Wouldn't this be considered an accident? Maybe it will be covered by insurance, but you will have to fork out the deductible. It really sucks, no matter what. I ran over a tire carcass and screwed up the bottom edge of the bumper. Was a good reason to buy and install front lip to cover up the damage.

Comprehensive coverage would probably cover it, but for a $160, your deductable would probably cost you more.

I dont think a dealer would or should fix it for free, I just needed a lift to look at the damage that happend, to make things worse, the old tech that was driving the car up the ramp didnt even consider looking if it was to low, Me, the manager and 3 other techs watched him go up and stop after the front bumper hit, and then back up off of it, when it backed up, the teeth on the ramp for traction caught it and took a small CHUNK out of the passenger side!!!! and it left a hole!!! and scratched up the driver side!!! I was pi$$ed!@! and none of them even apologized!!! IDK what to do.... just a bad day!!Originally Posted by txgcoupe
