I made a boo boo ;)
I just got my car a week ago.. Red/Black 6MT Premium Package / Aero.. and it is currently being broken in. It's at about 560 miles... but this guy in an Acura RSX Type S thought he was tough [censored]..so i HAD to school him.. He was begging for it.. I know i'm supposed to not break 4000, but i went all out.. is that gonna hurt my tranny / engine? It's not like i do this every day.. but it has happened once and never again..
btw.. i BURNT HIM!!! And i gotta change my G35Driver Name.. what do you think of G-Spot?

Re: I made a boo boo ;)
haha, g-spot is nice, but I hope you're not from nyc. Anyway, if you do a search on break in you can see that the opinions vary a lot, and the bottom line is that if you went over 4k rpm just once, it won't break anything in the long run. Just don't make it a habit.

FurureOwner-- Good Kill. It's hard to resist sometimes, and no you prolly did no damage, but it wouldn't be advisable to make a habit of it.
I personally think once in a while it does the engine good to 'stretch its legs', but that's not in the owner's manual.
BTW. I'm looked thru our list of member names and found that these are already taken:
Gspot
Gspot23
Gspot69
Gspot81
Gspotcoupe
GspotGirlie
GspotGirly
Gspotted
Thought you could use a headsup.
Enjoy your new ride, and good luck finishing the break-in.
