Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

The sound system is not all that much different with the premium package but I would definately concur with everyone else with regards to the homelink system along with the heated seats. Granted, the seats only come into play 4 months or so out of the year, they are a must have if you plan on driving with a woman. Just my two cents.

Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

I love every part of the premium package, especially the homelink & sunroof, but am very disappointed with the Bose system. I expected much better out of it since the one in my '01 Maxima absolutely blows my G's Bose away. I will be looking into swapping amps and/or speakers to hopefully make my G sound better. To get anything decent sounding out of the Bose I almost have to crank the treble all the way up... I think I'm set to Bass = +1, Treble = +4 right now. This seems to be my standard setting for CDs... the radio is even worse... maybe Bass = -1, Treble = 5. I like the deck (6-disc in dash, with nice layout), but the rest could use an upgrade.

Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

i asked the guy at the dealership about the "warming seats"
he said those come standard...

like i said before i am getting the moonroof for sure...is the extras worth the $1250....where is can reinvest it into a better sound system or have enough for VOLK RIMS.

or i might as well get it all...and pay it off monthly...

thanks for the advice guys

Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

I would do without the prem pack. That extra $1250 would can get you a pretty good sound system compared to the bose or some go fast parts. Problem is, it seems like every dealer order these cars with the prem package. Besides, option packages typically depreciate rapidly on a car versus if it was standard.

Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

i wouldn't have gotten it.. none of the options in the premium package really impress me, but it was either get that.. or order one without it.. and htat would make me wait another 3 months. If i could get a NAV without the Premium Package, i would have gotten that instead.

Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

Maybe I'm the oddball and I'll get flamed but I personally didn't need the Bose or the other features at $2K+ on my semi tight budget. With the 6MT sports package everything else is icing and why not spend it on rims or something else?

Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

i am not an audiophile in any way, shape or form. so to me, the std stereo and 150-160 watts (or whatever it is) was fine enough.

i wanted sunroof, couldn't care about homelink or dual climate.

so, i only ordered with sunroof, no premium. mine is a 6mtC, so it comes with seat warmers.

i am happy with my choice.

04 6mtC, DG - possibly most babied G on the board.

Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

A lot of people obviously disagree with me, but as you can tell from my sig, I don't think the premium package is worth it.

Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

thanks everyone for all the post...
i just wanted to get a feel for what everyone thought about the options but i think im going against it and getting the moonroof and tire package....no spoiler cause i might get it off ebay.

i just graduated college and started working 4 months ago so just getting the G is a "premium package" in itself hahahah
but i rather reinvest that money into volk wheels or aftermarket system.

again thanks for the input

Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

If you are into sound I would think you would not want to get the premium package and just get the sunroof.
Use the savings toards a double-din center console and an aftermarket head unit/speakers...you might need to add more $$ but the sound will way better.
As for the other options you will loose the dual-zone function with the double-din anyways so that's not big deal and you should be able to get a "loaded" rear view mirror aftermarket so that just leaves the auto headlights...not that big a deal. Unfortuanately you can't get nav but you could always put a unit in your double din.
BTW..heated seats are standard with leather models.

Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

That's exactly my thinking. I ordered a black/black 6mt that will hopefully arrive in March. I only got the sunroof and aerokit minus rear spoiler and plan on everything else aftermarket. There's a new Pioneer single din nav coming in March that has an accelerometer built in so it also has G-Tech type functionality in one unit plus it's touch screen. The only thing missing is radar detection built in, but I already have a passport 8500. I'm not a big fan of Bose and I always figured I'd upgrade the audio anyways (need mp3 ability) and the other items of the premium package weren't a big deal for me personally so in the end it worked out great for me.

Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

I got the premium package and it is fine with me. I'll agree that the bose isn't the greatest but I hardly turn the radio up that loud. I enjoy listening to the engine note much more than the sound system. The heated leather seats are **** and the moonroof is a quality piece. There is something about cruising around on a crystal clear 20 degrees F night and having the seat heaters on, the sunroof open and being nice and toasty.
No nav, I know where I'm going, plus $2k buys alot of maps.

33550 sticker, about 2100 for extended warranty, and tax. I can't remember right know, because I'm at work but i think out the door was about... 38100. I normally automatically refuse extended warranties, but with as much as I love this car, I am sure that I will have it for at least seven years. I got the 7 yr/100,00 warranty.

Re: Premium Package..Worth It???

It shouldn't matter what package anyone has in their own car. The important thing is that they are happy with what they have. Some people want plain jane and others want the bling bling. Me, I'm somewhere in the middle. I did opt for the premium package w/o navi
