Mine already was painted, the crack is like a 12" circle and will need some major re-work. Summer project.

mine was just the resin, the cf wasn't touched, it needs to be re-enforced underneath, and i'll have to mod my latch to go even higher so i don't have to press as hard.

Be careful and if your hood is hard to close, make sure anyone who tries to close knows it can crack if you push too hard.

I have had lots of carbon fiber parts on my other vehicles and have only had minor problems, and usually (always ) they were my fault. If installed correctly and taken care of they will be fine. As previously stated the resin is very brittle but the weave is very durable.

The hood should never be hard to close, if it is it's not installed properly. The latches can be modded to fit just right, we had to fab one for my bro's Z.

I will take pics of my bros latch and post them on Tues. We tried slotting the holes to allow more movement, but it just didn't look right so we ended up cutting and welding a new piece on to the latch. Works perfect.

I would have had to fab up a new one for mine. It was always tight and the custom intakes I made behind my grille didn't help things either.

nope my bros car is in the shop getting a clutch install I will post them when I see the car again. It's really not that difficult the problem is that the latch did not come up high enough so we slotted the mounting holes, just use bigger washers when you bolt it up again. That's the easy fix.
