Angry Crack'd my cf hood

Came home from work today popped my hood to see what i'll be taking out later tonite, jus got my z-tube in the mail yesterday, and planned on installing later today along with a drop in K&N. Well i went to close my hood, and it's always been hard to close cuz the latch isn't up high enough even tho me and my dad put it up as high as it would go. Well anyways im sittin here tryin to close my hood which seemed alot harder than usual and then i lift up my hands and low and behold there is a damn crack. Man i was so f*in pissed, the hood hasn't even been on there that long too, maybe 2-3months or so. I'm almost tempted to put the stock hood back on.

Well heres a pic of the crack.

I'm sure there isn't anything i can do about it, but im still pissed cuz i'm gonna have to close it again later on and i have a feeling that crack is gonna grow from 3 inches to all the way across the hood.

I've had mine for a couple months now. He probably pushed too hard. and adjusting the latch isn't the only thing your supposed to do. You have to adjust the latch and where the hood sits on the hinges. you might have to pull the hood forward a little or back a little. Its easier if you have the grill off to check and see where the hood is hitting. also you don't push down from the middle. Use your palms about 2-3 inches to the side of the latch and press down slowly till you hear the click of the hood catching onto the latch.

sorry to hear about the hood bro, you might want to take it to a body shop and have them fix that and lay more fiber glass underneath for protection, AND/or get hood pins I wouldn't trust that hood over 100mph... I'm even scared to take mine over 110mph for fear that the hood will fly open, I haven't got my hood pins yet.

Why would you have doubts.

I had my hood for over a year and I have constantly taken the car above 145MPH with no issues.

Taken it to the track and I even swap it out with my OEM hood on occasions and not one issue.

It's all about how you take care of what you have.

like jdmeg21 said, we did pull the hood forward and adjusted the latch a whole bunch of times, but it real hard to close.

i guess i should be glad its just the clear coat thats cracked and not the structure tho.

i really like the whole cf hood look, but i might have to jus get it painted, cuz i didn't real get the hood because its lighter which i might add it didn't feel that much lighter than stock, but anyways im still deciding what to do.
