Go for a well maintained 05 and use the $3k to buy a sportier lip, HKS exhaust, and some minor audio work if you can't stand the BLOSE sound!

 

Is it me or are the lights on one year of the g35 kind of curved out.

 

If you are saving $3K, get the 05. Main difference that is worth wild is the projectors and you can get that for $1K with bulbs of your choice. If you must get better brakes, gets some used BBKs (front only) for about $1500. You will still have some left over and get the MREV+ and now you are ready to rock and roll!. Also, the real aluminum interior of the 05 doesn't scratch like the 03-04.

 

So what are these projectors everyone speaks about. Are they those round lights that look like crystal *****

 

Hehe, yes, those are the "crystal *****". Do a search here on those. I switched from the reflectors (03-05) and bought the 06. Yes, they do make a difference.

 

So do you know anything about any exterior modifications from the 05 and the 06?

 

The things that should count the most are the mileage, condition and warranty. When I was buying mine I made sure the car had really low miles and still had at least 2 years of warranty. I was buying mine in 2005 and went with an '04 because of the black interior on the IP coupe I found with everything. Good luck to you and remember, good things come to those who wait. haha thanks everyone for your input and interesting pov's. buttt it's still so hard to decide!! the 06's come with bluetooth right? but if i get a navi kit like the alpines or z1 pioneers (do they come with bluetooth or do u need to have bluetooth already ie. 06 model?) then i can get an older model right? I am leaning more towards an 05 due to costs and the lack of bremboes..i dont think i'll need performance brakes for my routine driving, altho they do look so sexy..*drools. haha. so now that i've sorta decided on the year, its sSOOOO hard to find a decent priced g35 in canada, avg asking price is like 35K for a friggin USED CAR!! so contemplating importing one from the states...still gotta look for one tho, anyone know any potential sellers? better yet, anyone selling in canada? ..on another note, i test drove the 03 this past weekend and i wasn't really impressed with the interior at all....and u guy said they improved the interior from 03's to 05's and 06's? just WHAT did they improve? i know i'll get to see for myself in real life but just to gimme a heads up, what are the newer interior mods? thanks again guys! love this forum haha.

if you do go aftermarket with the navi you CAN add bluetooth to the pioneer z1 not sure about the alpine though

 

I disagree, the brembos are great and you can really feel a different as I had an 04 with brembos and my BF has an 06 without, and you can tell.

If I could, I would get a used 04. My friend is selling a red one, under 14K miles, pristine condition, garaged, not driven in the snow, no accidents, no dents/dings/scratches, stock with premium package. If I could buy it and get rid of my FX I would. I still have my snow tires from my DG 04 Coupe. Just my opinion.
