For anyone who does custom on their cars, unless you specify under your insurance coverage the custom work on your car then it will be covered. If the condition of the accident is your fault. It's different if someone's fault then you can add the mod's against their insurance. Adding that to your insurance means paying extra. If you don't, any damage to your vehicle the Insurance will only cover the stock parts that originally is part of the car. All of us gear heads like to do mod's in our cars but a few of us fork out the moneyfor insurance to cover the mods. You spend buckoo $$$$$ on doing mods in your car but if you don't insure it; you'll never get it back if it get's damaged or stolen....just an FYI. No, I'm not an insurance guy, just learned it from good old gear heads that knows best.

someone told me about the buyback if they total it. how does that work? Is it worth it?
I want to pull out my system but because of the custom box it can only be removed from the trunk but it's crushed in tight. cant move anything.. not even my tennis rackets.

You underestimate the power of the Jeep Grand Cherokee! I had a 97 Black Jeep Grand Cherokee Tsi and I rear ended a Honda Accord. Let's say I hit him below 10mph(around 5-8mph) and his trunk+bumper was damaged but repairable and he said his "neck was hurting"(which we all know the idiot wanted some bodily injury money). My Jeep... lets say I only needed zip ties for the bumper (my bumper wasn't even damaged; it only just fell apart because the screws popped out.) It CAN be 25mph and to answer the sound of the brakes... when I brake really hard, it doesn't make a sound at all. For some reason, when I brake it just slows it down but doesn't stop completely until it slows down completely. So if he did slam on the brakes, the car wouldn't screech.
Wow... that Cherokee didn't take much damage considering what it did to your G and the fact that it hit the Cherokee in what should be a Crumple Zone. Apparently the G crumples better.
Time for a new car!
