Did the active head restraints work, or do anything that you noticed? I've always wondered if those would help in a rear end collision because they sit so far back from my head.

Glad everything is alright with you. A car is replacable.

Talk about sad.. I had two emotions.. I first saw the picture of the hot a** trunk set up.. Then got sad when I saw it smashed... Man.. that sucks.. It looks like you put a lot of time into that audio set up.. Good luck buddy......

Hey Everyone,

I got a call last night, the car is definetly totaled. The field adjuster estimated that it would cost about 20K for repairs. I thought it was a little high but I'm glad he came up with a really high number instead of a low one. He said the entire trunk, side panels, rear of the car, suspension, exhaust system, and frame had to be replace.

It's totaled. Now I just need to know what the insurance company will give me for my car. Any guesses? 50,479 Miles on it. 2005.

I don't remember if the head rest did anything for me. It all happened so fast.

I went to the doctor and there are some injuries that i'm currently being treated for.

It's time to start pulling out all the aftermarket stuff. The stereo is going to be a bitc*. I don't have much but maybe I'll post a thing or two.

LOL, good call

Any impact like that will cause frame damage. Frame damage alone usually is game over.

My car recently sustained 11K worth of damage, I actually WISH it had frame damage so they would have totalled it out and I would have gotten an untainted G

looks like it got smashed good. i would say with the damage like that to the body it would take too much to repair it. probably totalled.

i would want it totalled after that. Everyone i've talked to with cars that have been in accidents says that these cars don't handle right after they are fixed (if it damaged anything in the driveline).

hey guys i'm back. well on tuesday the other driver's insurance adjuster came out to look at my car. Unfortunately I couldn't be there when he came out. Well I got the write up and the estimate today in the mail. His dumb a** is estimating that it will cost a total of $6,200 to repair including all labor and only 10 days in the shop. According to him, the car will be repaired.

I don't want to repair it! I am pissed. What should I do? My attorney is handling everything so I have to wait until tomorrow morning. $6,200!?!?!

$6,200 = a sh*tty repair job.

I know what you are going through. One of my ex-friends totalled my 06 Cobalt SS. He was only cited for running a stop sign but not for speeding. I guess you can total a car by going 25 mph head on into the side of a astro van. The insurance person told me they would fix it too cause it was an 06 but the estimator got to 18 grand in damages and wasnt even half way done with the car.... I hope everything turns out well for you!!!
