yup i totally agree. there are lots of cars such as the e46 m3 that get almost identical mpg compared to our cars. No offense they aren't the most effecient engines.

man.....

12.7 to 13...

commuting from city to the suburbs just for schooling is really hitting me bad. especially when i sometimes i drive my girlfriend to school in the morning even though thats really close by at least. only saw one time on my navi saying i got 19 mpg. 19! that was only for 3 days! wtf?! for the past few months now (its winter so im guessing that could be my reasoning....and also most of my miles are highway miles...eh), its been the most crappiest mpg i ever got. i dont even drive that hard anymore.

i got 340 on my last tank..i was prety surprised cuz i never got more than 290 before.

for the first half of the tank i ws driving city. got an oil change and then drove from jersey to boston at an average of 95. pretty happy with that tank..i hope i can get that again.

oh yea..i also changed from oem 19's to oem 17's. i dont think that should make too much of a difference should it?

I have an 05 X. When I first got it, it seemed to get better mileage, a good 350 miles a tank. Then 320, then 300, now with the crappy winter gas we are stuck with in Chicago I am lucky to get 280. Thats only 14-15 MPG, I do the math everytime I fill up. Thats super poor. I think Nissan really bosted the numbers for IDEAL conditionns.

Check your tire pressure. Low tire pressure will affect your gas mileage. Clean your air filter. Clean your MAF Sensor. These may help. What grade of gas are you using also?

it won't if the outside diameter is the same. if you have a smaller diameter then your mileage would actually show higher than normal, which would make it seem like your gas mileage would go up. example:

say in 1 mile your tire rotates 1000 times. that means 1000rotations=1mile
if you switch to a smaller tire or anything smaller diameter the tire will spin more times because it travels less distance. ie: 1200 rotations=1 mile. therefore you will actually put more miles on the car than you actually do.

I just bought me G35 about a month ago, I thougth I wasn't getting very good MPG, so I figured it out today and on my last tank I got 13.27 mpg. The cars not being driven hard either, just normal driving (although it is mostly city driving). I'm a little dissapointed, my 97 Formula Firebird with 5.7L V8 get better MPG. I thought this new high tech V6 would for sure get better fuel economy than my low tech chevy small block, but the V8 make more power and gets better fuel economy. I'm not saying a don't like the G35, it's a great car, just a little dissapointed in the fuel econonmy.
