VDC, ABS and SLIP lights on, also brakes feel weird.

i'm kinda new to the G35 (i had a 92 S13 before) so i'm not too familiar with the car.i have a 05 6MT and just got some new Axis Hiros yesterday... put them on and when i was driving home from the tire shop my VDC, ABS and SLIP light all turned on. thought it was really weird. my brakes felt weird too. i was braking softly and it felt like the abs was kicking in. got off the freeway and turned the car off and turned it back on. all the lights turned off. but the brakes felt the same when i was braking lightly.

same thing happened this morning. the brakes feel weird even when the ABS,VDC and SLIP lights are off.whats going on here??

do i need to change my brake pads??
warped rotors???
what the hell!! HAHA
help out a noobie to the g35 scene.

After that check the wheels! Are they new or used? I purchased a bent set of wheels once from some crook and he almost got a black eye. (i got a new set) :-). Anyway my car got allsortsof****edup with the bent ones on. It was a VW R32 with the dash lit like an X-Mas tree

nah man

it's a common thing for all G's

it's happened to me twice (VDC BRAKE SLIP) lights going on while im driving.

you need to change the brake pads
visit the dealer,
mine changed the fronts for free (i think all dealers do) as part of some warranty

the wheels are BRAND new out the box, i thought it was weird this all happened after i put on the new set of wheels.... so check my brake fluid and if that doesn't solve the problem change my brake pads???

so that would be the reason those 3 lights are all lit?? HMMM....my s13 was much more simple LOL

i guess i'll try to take care of this tomorrow morning...

the problem was that you put 32 pound wheels (each) on the G!

When you change the tire size on the front tires it makes the ABS freak out. All the posts that hero put up say this. I have the same problems with mine. Only way to fix this is to go as close to OEM tire diameter as possible. Miata.net has a tire size calculator that works very well.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

check it out

Same Thing...

Yesterday I had my Axis Matrix thrown on and the same thing happened to me a few blocks away from Americas Tire who did the install. I pulled over and reset the ECU. Everything was fine afterwards. Rolling on these 20's feels weird. Feels like the car is a lot heavier now. Feels like there is not as much pull when you floor it.

Not so fast... It's not common to my G. :P You should have mentioned that you put on brand new wheels. Use a tire size calculator to make sure you kept the overall size (rim + tire sidewall height) the same as before. I read somewhere it's ok to be within +- 3% of the original OEM specs. If that's not it, then try check what others have suggested.

what's the sizes of your front rims and tires vs the rear.

the abs is quite sensitive to tire size. if the ratio between the front and rear are too great, then it will cause the brake to act up weird. like getting a hard pedal and some kind of grinding sound when the pedal starts to go down. A quick remedy is to remove the ABS by unplugging it. By your brake resivoir, on the distribution block..there will be a grey plug. see if that works, you will use ABS and entirely remove your traction control.
