Good Bye G (for now)
Good Bye G (for now)
I just waved good bye to my '06 6MT.
I shattered two bones in my right hand Saturday, and I can't shift gears. (there's an argument I haven't heard in the never ending auto vs. mt debate.)
My father just dropped off his '97 Honda Accord (automatic) as a trade with me the next 6-12 weeks. I can still hear him laughing as he drove away in my coupe. He said I can drop by once a week, and he'll give me a ride.
Thank God the Lortab makes me happy.

Later when I crashed that same truck
I didn't have enough strenght to push a clutch in. Now that was a bad 2 weeks for my leg to heal enough to drive again. I didn't break anything but I was on the breaks with both my feet on the pedal and my legs straight when I chrased. Try jumping 6 inches and keep your legs straight when you land. Now multiply that by 100.

How did it happen?
I saw the 23,456th post asking when the '08 coupe will hit the showrooms, and slammed my fist into the keyboard.
O.K., the real story. My friend's dog was running loose. We were chasing the mutt for about 15 minutes, and I tried to make a diving tackle. I hit the ground, immediately let go f-bomb go and went into the fetal position. The best thing is the mutt realized she just won the game as I was whimpering. She came over, licked my face and sat there until her owner walked up and got her.
Off to see the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. That should be fun.

Last 4th of July I shattered my 5th metacarpal in my right hand. I don't know if you ever broke a bone before, but I don't think anyone told you, its GOING TO HURT when they reset your bone. Anyone who tells you it won't hurt, take their names, and go back and kick their a$$es when its over. I swapped by G with my dad's auto 05 Lexus ES330, and was quickly reminded that there are some things his car can't do that mine could: Stop in a short distance and corner well. After several butt-buckering situations, I chose to keep away from everyone and drive like an old man. Its not that bad once the bone starts to heal, you will be on edge to keep it from touching anything, but once you are not paying attention and tap it on something, you'll loosen up. Good luck
