Window reset button/limit switch question...

The procedure states to not use the automatic, rather to hold the button down/up when resetting the limit. After doing that my window works fine when you hold the button down/up, but it does not work if you tap it to start the auto up/down mode (comes back down 1/4 of the way).

Anyone know if there is a way to reset the auto switch as well?

madchef........I had the same problem with my Drivers window a couple years ago.....When I had it in for service, I asked them if they would reset the window limiter......they just gave me a new window motor.....Haven't had a problem since...

If it's still under warranty, let them replace it before it ends up costing you a bundle.....

Same thing happened to me last week, I took my car in for service, and when i got it back it was doing the same thing, on auto up it would come back down a 1/4 way. I took it back and they said the window would just need to be "re-programmed" and they did it while I waited, took like 10 minutes, not a big deal.

Dude, do I know the feeling!

What the dealership has F***ED so far and also replaced!
1.) Dented the interior passenger door. --Replaced! (Entire piece!)
2.) Drivers side skirt scratched all the way down to cutting the plastic. --Replaced! (Entire piece!)
3.) Drivers side rear seat plastic cover over bolt --Replaced!
4.) Drivers side interior door handle cover (Silver Piece) --Replaced!

Want to hear something funny (and I'm being totally truthful of what I said verbatim). One of the service managers had to stick his head inside my cabin to smell the intense smoke crap smell from one of the tech's clothing that saturated my interior. When he was pulling his head back out of the car (door was fully open) he said "You know you can pull that BLUE PLASTIC COVER off your "Skyline" door step. I said "Yeah, actually I do. I leave it on, b/c your guys would f**k it up, the second I take it off!", He rolled his eyes at me and then turned around to see the PARTS Manager standing there about to read him the 'riot act' for treating (saying those things) to me like that. It was priceless!

Sounds like a over the wall story, but it's 100% fact.

Thanks Guys!
