Exclamation Help, My Backseat Won't Fold Down Anymore

This just happened one day when I folded up my rear seat. The seat release in the trunk is apparently no longer connected to the latch in the cabin. Is there another way to release the latch? I have taken my rear seats out before, but I have always started by folding them down. I would rather avoid seeing the dealer, because I will get a lot of crap about how it was probably my interior mods that caused the problem, although I definitely was not. Any help would be awesome.

There are two ways to release the rear seats...

The first is the plastic pull lever in the trunk

The other if it is still available, should be a red strap that is situated in the interior between the seat back and bottom in the center of the seat section...
If you put your hand in between the two sections and feel around, you should find this red strap.........give it a tug and it should release the seat for you.....

I have an 04, but I'm assuming all the G's have both options for lowering the rear seat.

The red strap is there, just keep digging around in the crack until you find it, then pull it towards the driver side panels. Most likely your handle got disconnect somewhere around there and you can trace it back and fix the problem without going to the dealer

The strop is there just tucked between the seat cushion and upper.

once yo do pop it with the red stap, take off the bottom part of the seatback. it should fold up. you need to take out the 2 plastic clips and it's velcro'ed on. then you can see the cable and lever to release the seatback. Mine had come off too, and just pop it back in place and it should work.
