Many MT g35 for sale??
I seem to notice numerous 6sp mt g35s listed in this website's classifed section. Also, saw 3-4 mt g35s listed the last 10 days in a local internet site: craigslist in SF,Ca.
Are people unhappy with the manual trans? In proportion to the number of mt vs at models made, it seems to be a very hi percentage of used mt models for sale.

Re: Many MT g35 for sale??
I would guess there are 2 possible reasons: 1. The seller bought the car hoping to flip it and make a quick buck; 2. The seller never drove a stick in his life but bought the MT at the advice of others and is having regrets.

Re: Many MT g35 for sale??
From living in one of the largest metropoliten areas of the county(over 10 million people and 3 local Infiniti dealers), I don't see the same thing. In fact I see the opposite. Almost everyone is holding onto their coupes, especially 6MTs. Within 300 miles there are 70 G35s for sale in autotrader. Of those 70, 9 are coupes and only 3 are 6 MTs. Looking at cars.com(what our local newspapers use), within 250 miles they only have 8 coupes for sale and 2 are 6MTs. I did not cross reference to see if the same cars may be listed, but if you add it together there are only 5 used 6MT coupes for sale of 10-million people. This is completely contradictory to your post.

Re: Many MT g35 for sale??
Actually if you look at the Autos for sale in the Classifieds forum to the left, there are an unusually high number of coupes for sale. Some higher mileage some low, I'm thinking the low mileage ones are unhappy with their purchase and the higher mileage ones probably are wanting something with more performance.

Re: Many MT g35 for sale??
On a serious note though, I noticed that on the autos for sale here on this site too. Maybe at some point I will trade with somebody that bough an MT and thinks made the wrong choice and would like an AT instead. If I had to do it all over again I would have bough the MT. No regreats though I still love my AT but ..... if it wasnt for the MM feature I would have allready made the plunge to switch to MT and loose a lot of $.

Re: Many MT g35 for sale??
"9 are coupes and only 3 are 6 MTs"
roughly 28% of gcoupe sold in MT...therefore, 3/9*100=33% it's about right AT:MT ratio...
"only have 8 coupes for sale and 2 are 6MTs"
again 2/8*100=25% it's about right ratio also...
"but if you add it together there are only 5 used 6MT coupes for sale of 10-million people"
5MT/17AT gives you 29% which about right as what gcoupe sold as new...
"This is completely contradictory to your post"
umm.. i don't think so... i'm suprised that MT gcoupe on sale that much in just one year of production... guess after 5years it will be more easier to find used MT... i was hoping Gcoupe take supra route but oh well...

Re: Many MT g35 for sale??
You've got to take into consideration who mainly reads these boards - car enthusiasts. There is likely to be a higher percentage of 6mt members on this board than in general so you're logically going to see more for sale here. I would think it would be easier to sell to another car enthusiast so I'd probably post mine for sale here too when the time comes.

Re: Many MT g35 for sale??
It amazes me how you can post facts with real numbers and people just can't read or understand the basic numbers. 5 6MTs for sale in an area with 3 local dealers(2 are in the top 5 selling in the nation) and a population of 10 million is nothing. By comparison there are 90 350Z's and 68 E46 M3's for sale with the same search and the same area in Autotrader. By the logic I am reading above this must mean that M3's are disappointing and the 350Z must be a POS. This is very flawed logic when you look at the volume of cars. Start looking at the number of Z06s or IS300s for same for the same area and the number goes up a lot more. You are always going to have people buy cars and then find out shortly later they can't afford it or decide to change. That is simply human nature, not any trend. But looking at the number of 6MTs for sale compared to anything else, there are very few being re-sold by comparison. Hmm...these numbers seem to match closely to the results of the last JD Powers report that was released. If you do a nationwide search in Autotrader, there are only 22 6MTs for sale in the country. The equates to .3% of the approximate 7500 6MT coupes that have been built.
