Now I am bit confused, you said you paid $32,400 sticker? and then you said you got 1.5k or later, 1.75k off MSRP right? so what do you mean by "sticker" then ? is it MSRP or Inovice You do agree that usually one cant get an ordered car cheaper than on the lot right? which isnt what you posted by saying "try ordering one if they don't come down on price."...like you said we dont know where is OP live, so contacting Grubbs might not be much of help to him.

And by your ratational that 500 isnt much of big deal to you to spend half day on it than why even bother of at all? wouldnt you be saving more time just pay whatever they ask? and how many dealership willing to offer discount right off the bat without any negotiaing?...Back in 03, I went to all 5 dealership in my area to just get 500 off, might not to you or some, but to me 500 is well worth my time, by the way most of ppl were getting far more than just 1.5k off on 05/06 and 07 now, I got 2.7k off on the 05's so we arent talking about just 300~500 more off than what you've paid, but like you said, to each his own.

Not trying to nicpicking on your post or be an agitator, but since OP was asking how to get a "best" price from us, I cant send him on his way thinking 1.5k off MSRP is a fair deal and anymore off will just be wasting his time.

my bank, USAA, offers a price negotation service, requiring from me only a VIN number. I received an offer of $1000 over invoice and my bank said that it was a great deal and to definitely take it, since nationwide, most 2007 coupes were selling at or near retail, which, I did...

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I was able to find a base coupe 6MT at my local dealership in the color I want. I can see that people think 32k otd is really low, I was just hoping that since the new models are coming out in a few months, the dealership wouldnt mind getting rid of the 07 coupes soon. I was going to purchase this same coupe back in december, it came right off the truck, but at that time they weren't willling to negotiate on price. They also made it seem like the car was going to fly off the lot, but of course it didn't. (Basic salesman tactic).

I figured that since its been a few months, theyd be more willing to move it, especially since the 08's are coming out.

Well, since the car is definitely not a necessity, I'll purchase it if I get the price I want. If I can't, then I'll wait.

I got my 05' IP G35 6mt for $37k OTD fully loaded. They also gave me free oil changes for the life of my car. So, it wasn't a great deal but wasn't bad imo.

My '06 6MT was 39K OTD, after coming online and seeing what other people were paying I felt like I got robbed.

You are going to kick yourself if you don't wait for the 2008. Just keep saving until its released. I don't understand why people are trying to buy '06 and '07 coupes. Just makes no sense to me. Your going to wish you waited instead!

I thought about waiting, but would have just ordered a BMW 335 coupe if I had waited. I got a great deal this past week on a G35 coupe (6MT, premium nav, etc) - paid 500 over invoice. I think you'll be able to pay invoice once the next coupe is announced and if you buy at the end of the month. I was able to get a screaming deal since it was the last day of hte month and their sales had been ****ty.

The 08 will definitely be a nice car, but will cost you 6k more (I guarantee that unless you go through a car buying service, most people will pay MSRP for the first year) and I don't see it as that big of a step up.

I can understand that too, but then if I wait for the 08's, I'm definitely not going to get it right when it comes out. It will be limited, a little more expensive, and the dealers will not be willing to deal on it. Plus, it will be the first production year, so the car may be riddled with problems. I would have to wait at least another year for the kinks to be worked out.

I really like the current coupe, so that's what I want to get.

right i know about holdback..its where the holdback interest or money to the dealership while the car sits on the lot. that money is paid back after they sell the car.

i spoke with the fleet manager, he said invoice was 32167, he'd give it to me for 600 over invoice, making it 32767. think thats fair, or should i try to bring it down?

thats a great deal right there cause your paying a great price soo no doubts about that just check KBB.COM and make sure that is the acctual invoice. Also read really carefully when you are doing the paperwork because they'll try to put **** in there like GAP insurance (which i recomend gettin either way) but not even tell you about it. even other things im not too farmiliar with for i have only been selling cars for about 3 months. Good luck with your purchase i bought my 06 first week of march last year for 500 over invoice and i have 0 regrets i love it more than life itself.

later Bud
