just got 20's feels like I lost some power
Just put on 20's.Will post pics when I get a chance to take some.Anyways here is what I'm feeling, feels like I lost some power from stop to go. I'm guessing that its because the rims are heavier, or maybe something to do with the bigger size rims. Just trying to gain some knowledge any info will be apreciated.

Yea both the increased size and weight (if more) will be noticeable. I pulled out my speaker box and I could tell a big difference in my launch from stand still and the box is only big enough for 1 10" speaker.

I'm not sure on the weight, but I'm sure that they are heavier because they are chrome. I'm also not too clear that explaination northface. So would the rotaion be affected if the rims are bigger but tires are smaller, because the circumfrence
basicly looks the same. Thanks you !

Yea thats a good point g35k. The wheels may be bigger in 2'' bigger, but if the tires are smaller in circumfrence that would bring it back down. I guess if you measured the circumfrence of the old rim with tire and then did the same with the new rim and new tire, you wouldnt really be affected if it was the sane or smaller in circumfrence from the stock setup. Hope you understand my ramblings hehe

d3g thanks for the reply! I sure felt the difference immediately! kinda sucks because I just installed the z tube and stillen air box,and was so happy that the car felt more responsive to the pedal. Now it even feels slugish. But I'm happy on how the rims match the g.

Re: just got 20's feels like I lost some power
The tires are heavier then 19s and 18s. My iforged wheels are around 23 up front and 25 in the rear. The rear with tires were 70lbs. I wieghed a 19 volk gt7 for the rear and it wieghed 55 with tires.

Re: just got 20's feels like I lost some power
if im correct, rotational mass seems to weigh a lot more than normal weight. For instance, if your wheels+tires combined weigh 40 pounds more than stock, once they get rolling, it'll weigh a lot more than 40. But your girlfriend will remain the same weight. Hopefully i wasnt confusing and u got something out of this. heeh

Re: just got 20's feels like I lost some power
i always thought rims on cars are just like humans with shoes on... as the shoes are heavier, human are likely can't run faster than the light one... think about it, if your shoes are 10lbs each.. can you run faster than normal one(likely few lbs)?? i think it's samething with cars... it's obvious that rims with 50bls will run slower than 40lbs ones... just my thought...

Re: just got 20's feels like I lost some power
Thanks kwakman! I kinda catch your drift, your answer makes
sense to me, but the effect sounds as if you are already in motion with the momentum. But I feel the loss in power right off the start before my wheels gain a steady momentum. To
bad I don't know my G as well as my accord V6, yet! With my accord I had it long enough to know if I floored it, at a certain rpm the tranny will shift wich also matches a certain mph.like for example maybe the tranny will shift at 30 mph when floored from stop, and the rpm is at 5500.just an example, not factual numbers so maybe you will understand
what I'm talking about. If I knew my G this well I could actualy
tell where the lost is at,instead of just by butt dyno. Thanks kwakman
