I read this thread and there are some random comments on this topic that have nothing to do with the original poster's question.
Everyone just spits out anything that they know or don't know about.

WOW.

This thread was interesting to me. Because I'm pretty new to rear wheel driving and to what new RWD cars have. Not to mention how one should shift when accelerating fast or just racing. I've been finding these forums very informative.

if i switch quick above 5000 rpm my traction kicks in and jerks me, so whenver i wanna drive fast i need to turn my traction off.

am i doing something wrong, when im closte to redline in second gear i release the gas floor the clutch... switch to third..fully disengage the clutch and floor the gas. i dont ride the clutch at all when im switching hard but i always feel a jerk and slip.

is it possible to swtich fast at high rpms with traction on?
In a straight line I would say that the vdc will help you more than hurt you. If you are just looking for wheel spin and to look like you're fast, then no you wont get that with the traction control on. It's kind of the point of the traction control. The traction control will definitely hurt you if you're roadracing opposed to drag dracing. You should test all of this out and let us know.

As you probably know, VDC is designed to detect wheelspin and events that are going to otherwise result in instability of the car. When a wheel starts to slip, engine power and possibly ignition timing is retarded to reduce wheel slip and in severe cases, the slipping wheel in question is individually braked. It's all great for safety (especially since our cars are RWD) in the rain but not so good for performance. Hope that helps. I usually just turn it off if I'm going to drive fast.

VDC stands for "Vehicle Dynamics Control" which means if you can't control the dynamics of your vehicle under normal driving you don't need to turn it off. Futhermore, if you can't keep the car in line under normal driving and you don't have super bald tires maybe you need a car more suitable for you driving skills.... Like a Yarus. Just my 2 cents.
