stillen or borla exhaust?
Re: stillen or borla exhaust?
Its all personal preference, so I will tell you mine.
I actually had the borla ordered and heard a sound clip of the stillen vs the borla and canceled my order. I got the stillen with no regrets.
The Stillen is about $400 more than the Borla and the Stillen weighs a little more than stock (12lbs I think?). The Borla is lighter than stock, but the craftmanship and sound are great on the Stillen.
Here is a link to a video of me and a buddy who also has the Stillen setup. BTW, I have the stillen airbox and 350Z tube. I am the second G in the video. Scroll down to find the link.

Re: stillen or borla exhaust?
Both good choices. I side more with the Stillens design, so much so I basically copied it making my own custom system before stillen came out with one for the sedan. BTW, you will find a lot of usefull owner comments on both systems on my350z.com

Re: stillen or borla exhaust?
FWIW I have the Z tube/Stillen intake/Borla exhaust and I am very happy with this combo. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I have heard nothing but good things about the quality and sound of the Stillen but I wanted to save some money so I went with the Borla.

Re: stillen or borla exhaust?
The Good & The Bad . . .
Borla uses a single exhaust canister whereas Stillen uses two (hence the reason it weighs more). The dual canister setup (one for each bank of the engines exhaust system) has pretty much always proven to yeild better results on the dyno for most high performance applications.
The craftsmanships and attention to detail on the Stillen system is awesome, whereas the Borla's looks more like a pep-boys Walker special.
The Stillen system is pricey! At over $1200, its way up there! The Borla is more at level, at around $750-$800.
Both systems are a bolt-on design and can be installed within an hour or so with everyday hand tools. No special mods or fabs required.
Sound wise, the Stillen wins it hands down! It has a more agressive tone from idle up. The Borla sounds very similar to the stock system from idle to mid throttle with only a subtle hint of a more "free'er flowing" system, and its not till you really get on the system that you can enjoy its growl.
HP claims, well this here is where things get a little "played out" and bragging rights come into play. Both systems will free up a few ponies, but don't fall into the number game.
If you still can't decide, and $$$ is not an option, looks doesnt matter, quality is of no concearn, and sound is not a factor, flip a coin....
