yea ive hit redling a couple of times, it doesnt shift for you. The only time it does any shifting for you is when you stop, it goes to 1st.

 

I believe the older model Gs have the "highest gear selector" while the newer one's are more of a manumatic. In mine, I have the highest gear selector and the computer will automatically go through the gears until it gets to the gear selected and it wont go past that. You can redline in that if you select the highest gear and let it jump off the limiter, but it takes a bit of practice to have your car just shift out of gear before you hit the rev limiter.
