My salesman told me the car arrived at the Los Angeles port last week. Today the car is still at the port and my salesman isn't exactly sure when the car will be delivered to Redwood City, Ca. Does anyone know how long it takes for a car to leave the port? I'm being anxious, but I'm really excited about finally getting my 6MT.

I feel your pain, Riotgear. I ordered my G35MT/Nav. a few weeks ago and just found out that it's sitting at the docks about 2 miles from my house. I could be driving it right now! Gimmie a crow bar, I'm going down to open the crate myself. I can do my own damn PDI.

Anyhow, they said it'll be at the dealership and ready to go Thursday at the latest.

 

Our cars might be sitting right next to each other... HA! I need to be more patient. I should be focusing on my finals this week, not the car. tsk tsk.

Hard to be patient after you've testdriven and picked out this car. I could barely wait 2 days wen I knew the car was waiting for me in the dealership. =)

As long as you don't have the AK1 aero package you should get your car soon. I'm in a similar boat, only my car has actually been at the port in Long Beach for 3 weeks now awaiting a part from Japan to put on the car as part of the AK1 kit. Infiniti in all it's wisdom no longer has the parts for the aero kit on site at the port but actually orders them after the car arrives. Or so I've been told. And so, I continue to wait.......

That really sucks! My car has the aero package, no aero kit. I figured I would have the dealer install the chin spoiler after the rainy season. I hope we all get our cars soon.

Where did you hear this from? Are you referring to the 4-piece aero kit that includes the front lip? My dealer has said nothing about delays due to certain components. I was told late December or early January and have yet to receive a VIN number...could this be why?

but here on east coast, we've been dumped with snow. and unless you have snow tires, there won't be many 6mtC's driving the east coast roads for a while

You're still waiting for your sept order from Harte in Hartford, right? I'm still waiting on mine from Harte in West Haven...they haven't given me a VIN or anything. I must go to the "search dealer inventory" on infiniti's website like 3 times a day! Not like we're gonna want to drive the car much in this weather but I WANT MY CAR...lol...

Yeah, it's the 4 piece aero with the chin lip spoiler. The sales manager from my dealership is the one telling me this. Mine was a V order, placed on the 2nd of Sept. I didn't actually get my Vin# until the car was at the port (the exact date it got there I don't know, but I know it has been there since the 18th of NOV at least), but part of that was lack of proactive communication from my dealer. Hopefully your car will not have the same issue, but I'm being told that the port is so backed up because of the increase in Sales this year, that they have not been able to keep the port installed pieces (AK1 pieces, XM or Sirus radio components in some cases) in stock and actually place orders for them once the cars arrive. Right now I'm driving a loaner I35 since my coupe was supposed to be here mid Nov, and the Sales Manager is trying to keep me sedated at this point.

Yep...my order is with Harte Infiniti (Hartford). Last time I heard anything (a few weeks ago), I was told a VIN number should be available by the second week in December. I was also told that it will take 2-3 weeks for the car to arrive after the VIN is available. Unfortunately the longer I wait for the VIN, the more I realize that I won't see this car until 2004.

As for the weather...I've pretty much demanded that the car is kept in the showroom or indoors, away from this nasty CT weather. If my car comes in and there is still snow on the roads, I'm going to make the dealer hold on to it until the weather is nicer. My luck, I'll end up in a ditch on my way home cuz of snow!!
