LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
Re: LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
Mike just seems to expensive for my taste but as you said... your products are for those people who feel like paying close to a grand for G lights to have the ultimate unique design....
Yeah and when i buy things that are expensive i expect to be satisfied with every purchase i make...
For example: I buy a television set for 4G's a buddy comes up and tells me he got same set for 2G's.. <-- he is way more satisfied then me with my purchase.. i don't kno hard to explain carry on...
For what its worth nice product...

How about some taillights??????? I didn't see a response to that yet. I would be willing to fork out some $$$ for some really nice looking ones.

afro> Mike, do you have another customer that is going with the black matte finish?
No pictures of the black housing headlamps ON a coupe yet, but I will definately post them as soon as I do.
2003Z> For the folks who want a trade program, how would clearcorners deal with getting your rock chipped light covers in exchange for a nice set? You can't just order the lens.
Not sure I understand your question. We dont sell the entire headlamp, we convert your OEM headlamps to the ones you see illustrated on our site. This is why its important customers send us a headlamp that is in good condition. This is also why we do not do core-exchanges on headlamps.
Also, pay close attention to companies that DO sell complete headlamp housings and see what they offer you. Typically, companies like APC and TYC sell headlamps made of low grade plastic, poor sealing, and use headlamp components with very poor optics. This is why they can afford to sell their complete headlamps for a few hundred bucks and why they also perform worse than OEM. We have been working with lighting for many years now. In my opinion, I think the G35 headlamp is a very high quality lamp. Even though some people may not like the reflector HID, I think its just a matter of preference in lighting pattern, NOT performance.

Aldo, there are SO many fly-by-night companies on the net that make promises, I really dont pay TOO much attention to what most aftermarket vendors are selling. All I can tell you is that our conversions are reliable and we take responsibility for every project and conversion we perform. If we retrofit a light to LED, we make sure it stays lit. If we disassemble, color match, retrofit, and re-assemble a headlamp, we make sure the light is fully functional, uses OEM sealant, and has no condensation issues. If we wire up a lamp, all wiring is soldered and shrink tubed for maximum reliability.
If you trust another company to open up your headlamp for $200, $600, or $5 dollars.. then that is fine with me, I just hope you get your moneys worth, thats all. The point I am trying to make is that our products exist for anyone who finds them appealing and can afford them. If that means less customers, thats fine.. we have to maintain a standard by not rushing jobs and or cutting costs.

In the works, we need a spare set of tail lights to work on. If anyone is interested and wants to assist us in developing such a product -- feel free to contact me via e-mail. As always, we offer 20% off to those who assist us with R&D.
Thanks again for all the responses,

Re: LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
I see a lot of people seem to be bashing clear corners pricing. I personally see nothing wrong with them. I've searched a lot of places and I can't find anyone else that offers the products they do. I was even all ready to send them my headlights until I found out they can't do the angel-eye conversion on a coupe.
How does the freakn turn signal (yellow front)
There's a clip for the front turn signals not the corner lights that allow it to clip out to allow the head lights to come out further. Does anyone know how to clip the wiring harness to the turn singal out without messing up the wires. the clip is on the bottom of the object next to the xenon relay.Help
Re: LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
old_s13 - Just out of curiousity, why isn't it possible to do the angel eyes on the coupe headlights? I'm guessing something to do with the housing being too small or the angel eyes messing up the beam pattern.
By the way, I just wanted to say I think you guys do some really awesome work. If I had the money, that would be one of the first things I'd do to my car.

Re: LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
Thanks for the responses. Adding rings to the G35-C isnt impossible, it CAN be done. However, in my opinion I dont think it can be done CLEANLY. The upper low-beam chamber is quite narrow, adding anything in that chamber will interfere with the light emitted for the low-beam. Also, I dont think that area is fully round.. it has some imperfections.
At first glance, I very much thought the G35-C would be a mix of the sedan and 350Z headlamps -- but it is not. The final decision was to keep the headlight looking clean, simple, and modify it in a way that doesnt downgrade the important thing: headlamp performance.
We are really against modifications that appear better than they perform. Its just like 6000k and 8000k bulbs, people call them "hid bulb upgrades" -- they are NOT. These higher kelvin bulbs dont last as long, emit less light, and are only good for their nice color.

"i think LCA's lights look incredible, much better than the clearcorners.com, and it probly didnt cost a grand. any info on how u did it would be great, awesome job."
The dual projector retrofit required making custom brackets to maintain the manual beam level adjustments. Then 90mm Hella projector lenses were installed (4 total).
The headlights housings were sprayed with a Matte Black finish and the turn siganl lens was "smoked" rather than being removed all together.
The Demon Eye kit was made from latest generation Fiber Optics (not LEDs).
These lights only cost more than a grand to construct because of the price of the 4 projector lenses. Just Demon eyes and paint would cost nowhere near $1,000.00.
The price point we sell the Gen-V Fiber Optic Lexus IS300 Demon Eye Kits at is $250 for a DIY kit, the cost would be about the same for the G35 kit.

Correct, and this is why people need to understand: different technology - different product - different pricing.

Re: LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
the LEDs in the pics posted above are fine. if you want "angel eyes" go buy a bimmer. i'm so sick and tired of people who don't own bimmers throwing angel eye kits on their car. like hyundai tiburons and [censored]. BUY A DAMN BIMMER IF YOU WANT ANGEL EYES!
granted, the LEDs he's offering are a sort of angel eye look, but at least it's a bit different and not an exact copy.
flame all you want.

Re: LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
Serum, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that post -- comedy! Alas, there are still enthusiasts who think like I do:
- Anti "altezza"-styled tail lights, except for the Altezza.
- Anti "CELIS" replica products, the design is too BMW-esque.
- Anti "lambo-doors" as they just dont look NOR perform like true lamborghini "scissor-styled" doors (correct nomenclature).
In my opinion, when you fix up a car you have to do it right, make it look classy, make it look like it came stock so that no one can tell that its aftermarket. I guess every company has their own goals and image..

Re: LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
LCA how did u "smoke" the amber bulb? it looks great. if i did work on some headlights i think i would just black it out and not worry about the projector lenses, but urs look awesome.

Re: LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
Not exactly, the low beam chamber is not perfectly round and doesnt really have much of a mounting surface at the top. While having projectors will help eliminate any interference, its a massive job and would drive up the costs significantly.
