Question about Oil Change

I am new to the boards and a new owner of an 04 6 speed MT Coupe. Before anyone says anything, I did use the search button and didnt find the answers I was looking for. First question, I need to do an oil change so what would be the best way to do this? Ramps or jack and jack stands? Second, what brand of oil and oil filter are best for the car? I plan on using synthetic but was just wondering what brands are pretty good. Thanks in advance.

Changing your oil is pain too many screws you have to take off just to get to the oil filter but to answer your questions I would suggest ramps if you have them and use mobil 1 5 quarts 5w 30 and a nissan oil filter or if you want a mobil 1 or a k&N its up to you. You will get plenty of different answers also depends on how much you are willing to spend.

You will get as many answers as there are people on this board.

However, real good info on bobistheoilguy.com

I'm using Amsoil filter and Amsoil 0W-30 oil. It's one of the true synthetics. Mobile 1 is now a blend. If you can find Castrol 0W-30, European formula, it's true synthetic. Some Auto Zones carry it. Don't use oem filter. If you don't do Amsoil, use Wix, Mobile 1, or Pure 1. Read up on all this on bobistheoilguy.com.

Also using Amsoil air filter.

I use AMS 5w 30 synthetic (Minnesota) along with a Pure One oil filter.

There's another recent thread on here about Mobil 1 and it's not a full synthetic anymore. Many folks here use Amsoil which is 100% synthetic (always has been and always will be). I have been using 0W-30 and have had it in my car for 21,000 miles. Did a filter change at 12.5k miles as recommended by Amsoil and added a quart of oil. No problems whatsoever and 21 mpg in the city.
